I guess it's a pay back time to fellow b/hatters and show you how I make money with affiliate programs using fliers door to door. First of all I use this method for only money making niche and payday loans. I market a variety of money making programs but in this case I will give you an example of a make money with surveys a click b*nk product.
I term my flier distribution method as "intrusive and aggressive" since I have been yelled at several times but the method works like a charm and I would bet that no one is using this method in your area.

I tape my fliers on the door nobs using a white masking tape ( do not tape fliers on a painted surface since this may peel off the paint when the flier is removed ..."you will be a wanted man dead or alive") the plain back side of the flier facing out. Why the the back side facing out? If you saw a plain flier taped on you door nob what would you think? Your first reaction is to grab it and read the content. 99% of people when they approach their door they will turn the flier around to read the content.
However, when they see a flier taped on your door nob facing the right way you will probably speculate that it's some form of advertisement squashing the flier with anger before you read the content. As the saying goes first sight last impression so let the first sight create curiosity but not a turn off. If you are promoting a survey program and distributed 5000 fliers be lest assured that more than 4000 people will turn the flier around and scan through.

I start my headline with the bold word "Notice". In a twist of fate I used the same headline in the CB survey product with just a little twist " My name is Michelle Allister...."the CEO of ebay....story...sales pitch story...call for action...The point here is I do not print "make money thing" on the headline at all. In one of my program my headline starts with " My name is **** my husband left for Poland...6 months pregnant... I want people read my story (social proof) and relate or in other words I make my flier less commercial as possible.

How do I recruit people to distribute fliers? This is how I recruit, I go to small pizza shops and ask the employees whether they know of someone who can distribute fliers for my internet business a few hours a week. Sometimes they give you a couple of names it's hit or miss. If you happen to see a pizza flier person ask them to refer you to someone who would be interested. I generally like using pizza guy's since they are used to the job "walking". To minimize being cheated I drive all my flier people to an area where I want them to work and monitor them. I do all my fliers once or twice a week using 3 people each person distributing about 1,500 fliers a day especially in apartments complex.
Avoid recruiting from Craigs list since you will end up recruiting Zombies who can't walk long and fast. It's a tough job!
If you are using a flier distribution service keep in mind that most of these services will distribute your fliers along with other fliers so your material will not stand out.
Draft a simple contract and ensure your flier team signs a contract that they are independent contractors...you will not be liable...etc
In my city fliers are not allowed they were banned 3 years ago and there is a 50 bucks fine for each flier you leave on a home. However, I pretend I don't know sh*t and I have never been in problems. So pretend you don't know sh*t
If people yell at you for taping fliers on their door knobs remember if you go kicking at every dog that barks at you, you will not get far so let them bark.
Conversion rate: I will not get into conversion but test test test. Go*gle tool kit offer converts like crazy offline with this method. Nevertheless to boost your conversion get an 1800 number and record 2-3 minutes sales pitch and call to action referring prospects to your website. Goo*gle for Kall8 you can get 1800 number for as little as 2 bucks a month. Putting a phone number on your flier makes all the difference. It's paramount that you keep your domain name simple, easy to type and easy to pronounce especially when recording your sales pitch.
Print you fliers, buy a white masking tape at any hardware store or office equip store, cut at least 1/2 inch of tape to stick fliers on door knobs. Any questions just let me know!

The first question would be: How much are you making after expenses?

Distribution of 5000 fliers using 3 people cost me around 200 bucks i.e if each person working a total of 10 hours paying them $7.00 hourly. The average cost of black and white 8.5x11 flyer printed on 201b.bond @ 0.09 per flier is about $80 including shipping. On the average your total cost for printing and distributing 5000 fliers is $300. If I am promoting make money doing survey I will convert at least at 1%-3%. @2% that equals to 100 sales at $15. I make 1200 after all the expenses with two day's of work. I like to split my flier distribution in two day's. The downside of this method is that is very hard to track. I can't really tell what area is converting well since I use one standard url on my fliers but I have just a general idea. I have tried other CB products like M*verick Money Maker and got less than 0.5% conversion. Most people out there don't want to learn internet real stuff they fall for easy money schemes like surveys and data entry. The Go*gle kit converts better just because of the trial $1.95 otherwise it would not sell. Just print a few fliers from Kinkos and test.

I like this and have thought about doing something similar. However, I never gave it this much thought, planed or took action. Nice share peter.

Tip: I used to do fliers for a sales job I had a while back, if money is tight, you can always cut that 8x11 in 2 and have 2 fliers. :)

I may have a friend that would be interested in doing this. Although, I am pretty sure he has no start up money.
What would be the minimal investment to get this off the ground for him? $30 or so....?

Thanks for your tip of cutting fliers in half. Yes, I would suggest you start up with 500 fliers which would cost you $40 from Kinkos. But when you want large quantity printed don't use Kinkos they are expensive just Google and you will find a super deal.
Then distribute the fliers yourself. I still do fliers personally to keep physically fit. Advantage of distributing fliers yourself is that you learn "what it takes" which will help you in assigning and monitoring your flier team.
Remember this is a number game and numbers don't lie! So 500 fliers will probably be for testing the waters otherwise the profit may be too small. If that converts at 2% @ $15 per sale your profit is $110. It takes about 5 hours to do 500 fliers so your pay is $20.00 per hour or something like that. But I emphasize that it's damn hard to walk for 5 hours. But when you log in your account and see a sale or two you will be energized to walk next day for 10 hours. I would rather earn for walking than dancing with SEO elements. The more fliers you put out there the more $$$.

5 hours for 500 flyers? Why not hit shopping mall parking lots? stadiums parking lots? can probably get 500 out in an hour in a venue like that. Also, if youre in a nice city area, you can make deals with pizza shops to give a flyer with every order. theres so many outlets other then door to door, theres an endless supply of leads offline, think outside the box

Some good ideas guys....

You think someone could hand out 500 in an hour?
What would be the pizza shops compensation?

Anyway, I think I may just do this and outsource the hand out flyers part to my friend, He already agreed to do it. I just told him I would give him $7 a sale. And if he handed out 100 an hour that would be $7-$14 an hour (1%-2% conversion rate) for him. He said he had done it before for someone here, and they paid $50 a day 8 hour day ($6.25 hr).

SO this is opportunity is more for him, and I have also seen ads locally for people to hand out fliers at .08 a flier.

so this has the potential for scalability and benefit to people you hire.

I think I will Put 2 offers on each flier. Probably go with that google tools kit & a like a CPA pay day loan offer.

I already have an idea for a catchy 3 word domain name. Then I would just have it be a 2 page lander review style site. Emphasizing the "social proof" aspect with testimonials like Peter originally pointed out.

Each page of domain would go to each of 2 offers being promoted.

SO...

1. what do you guys think of 2 offers on 1 flier?
2. Where is the best place to affiliate with google tool kit? Is this the one paying $15 a sale Peter?
3. @Peter You said you tested a cb product for survey's, What was the purchase price on that? You saw 2% conversion? Over how long a period of time?
4. Anybody know any CPA companies that would be cool with this kind of traffic?

I also am really feeling the idea about Kall8 1-800 number the more I think about it.
Thanks peter.

Personally I don't directly put two offers on one flier. A solo offer has more authority and it's easy to provide a sense of urgency, I tend to show my audience that the offer is exclusive. However, what I do is to discreetly insert a second offer at the bottom of the flier e.g say " Please visit our sponsors at Cash678.c0m to get $1500 within 48hr. Tip: For payday loans I get a domain that starts with the word cash then the area code. If the phone area code starts with 678 then my domain will be Cash678.c0m. Just a simple domain name that is easy to remember and this short domain names works great for lawn signs too.(I will soon post how I market with lawn signs once I establish my conversion)

Go*gle tool kit offers pay between $29 and $33 you may try C*peac they have a wide range of G tool kit. Anybody know of a network accepting offline traffic please post it.
I have seen threads in some forums pointing that they are some CPA networks that accepts offline traffic however I called several AM's and they plainly say that they do not accept offline traffic. So I defied that rule and started offline marketing with crossed finger. Distributed 2000 fliers and got 31 sales@$29 each. I got paid though my traffic seemed to originate from the same state and never heard a word from my affiliate manager. So I stopped taking chances and emailed my AM manager and provided him with a story like I am the secretary of a youth employment community....in MY STATE with a large optin email data base...and I will be blasting Go0gle offer from time to time and got a green light. For some reasons I don't feel insulated so I don't go crazy in promoting G0*gle kit. Offline traffic is genuine traffic so I guess the AM's will just close their eyes if G0*gle tool kit cancellations are at minimal and trust me offline noobs will hardly read the fine prints of the offer.

Which click bank product? My first CB product was paying about $15 however the commission average from $15 to $35. 2% conversion is the average for a survey membership costing less than $50 to the customer bucks. As I mentioned the downside of marketing offline is lack of proper tracking method. I don't have a good system in place for tracking. Another big factor is demographic. I visited a friend in a neighboring state did 500 fliers and I was convinced I made just a few sales or no sales. Target middle class or below areas and do not do fliers on Friday-Sunday. I keep testing several CB surveys picking the ones that don't cost too much to a customer and a good landing page of course. Black hat tip: Get cracked survey website e.g. hxxp://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/member-downloads/122057-get-paid-surveys.html and clone it with just a little bit of twist. Just add a million bonuses to minimize returns You keep all the profits the only disadvantage is PayPal bull shit.

The only problem with this method is - you have to change areas everytime. You can never hit an area twice?

Otherwise, its a nice method to hit up once.

That is correct I never hit an area twice, we all know that Go*gle kit and Survey programs are just a pile of BS. Most people never earn a single dime from any of the program! After all it's survival for the fittest.

Great ideas.
For tracking: I wonder if a 1800# service that was still cost effective, could provide a voice prompt to enter the callers zip code... For example: "Hello, thank you for calling about cash555.com, to [verify/ensure/transfer] YOU [are eligible/have up to date info/to the offer you recieved] please enter your zip code" and then tabulate the data, and transfer the caller to the intended sales pitch. ? Just an idea as I haven't searched for such a service.

That's a good tip Cowry if any b/hat member identifies such a tracking phone system let us know. I know I waste advertising dollars for lack of tracking. A few members have PM me to post a sample flier of Go*gle tool kit and I will be posting it in a few.

I would say you could hit areas more than once. I have read more than once it often takes the average customer 7 times seeing your ad to take action. There is no reason why remarketing an area wouldn't work.

I had my friend distribute some offline flyers for a make-money-from home CPA offer. Out of 200 flyers, we only got about 6-7 people actually visit the offer with 0 conversions. The flyer was a bit sales-like "Make Over $6,467 Per Month Online On the Internet".

My friend also ran into some troubles while distributing the flyers. He was told to GTFO by parking lot security in a popular shopping center after 50 flyers. Local college wasn't good because of all the campus security driving around. After 6 flyers at a local apartment complex, a neighbor told him to kick rocks. Basically, he was harassed wherever he tried handing them out (mostly on car windshields).

We didn't try door-to-door because we figured it wouldn't be worth it for the time put in. Distributing to houses would take much more time than just putting them on windshields in a crowded parking lot.

Not sure what our game plan is now.

I have a problem finding affiliate offers that allow offline advetising though and they will notice all leads are from same area :/ I love the write up though

That Kall8 tip was great!

I've never seen an 888 number for $2 month, and for sure that's what they charge.

Jeez, I could have 5 different numbers for $10 a month! :D

Thanks!
