Copied Content for PBN?

Hey guys,

I bought a news domain recently. The link juice is spread to various news articles. I wanted to restore those url and articles. There's no wayback archive too.

Shall i copy the same news article from CNN, etc and publish them? Is it a good idea or any other suggestion?

You can restore the old urls with new unique content but not copied content.

You need to plan ahead before you start a project or buy a domain. Lesson learned i guess.

Well. No way i'd would pass that domain. So i picked it. What if i copied content and rebuild those articles?

I already answered the question above....do not use copied content, seo 101, but thats up to you end of the day. If the domain is really that strong and something you want to go with then write unique content on only the most powerful links at first and see how that goes and rebuild slowly. Not sure why there is no way back history though if its as good as you say.

No history for example could mean someone previously used it as a PBN site and blocked bots. No history to me usually means 'Do Not' buy the domain irrespective of its metrics.

If there is no wayback history, then how do you know the domain is clean? what are the metrics like? what about # of RD?

There is wayback history for homepage and many other pages, but it didn't crawled all the pages.

What are the metrics of the site? RD, DA/PA, TF/CF? I'm asking because there is another tool out there like wayback but it is paid. It's called domaintools.com or something like that I don't recall. It costs about 100 bucks a month though, so you need to see if the domain is worth spending that amount. Otherwise, just rebuild the site and use it as a PBN. I don't think you should copy the content from other sites, if you do then spin it and edit it manually to get the highest uniqueness and readability possible.

Consider if it is archived from say 2009, and passes a plagiarism check?

If its not indexed in Google, its clean

Main thing is this with PBNS etc - If you change the content too much from what the site was BEFORE you brought the domain, you lose link value..

If you're gonna PBN... Make it look like a site refresh rather than change

It's not, that kind of content is safe to use. You can get some issues with copyright laws, but chance of that is pretty pathetic.

To OP, never use spun or copied content that doesn't pass copyscape. It won't even get indexed in most cases. And rebuilding a huge site like that will be a problem. I can almost guarantee you, that Archive.org will not have most of the articles stored anyway.

So rebuild what you can and redirect all 404 dead internal pages to homepage. Some people here believe that 301 of dead pages to homepage is considered a weak 301 or a 302 redirect which does not pass too much linkjuice, but my experience tells otherwise. It's up to you.

If you were trying to say, that the domain isn't clean if it isn't indexed in Google, then you are completely wrong there of course. Fact that the domain isn't indexed does not mean anything at all regarding its cleanliness.

It would not be considered as a copied content if you have passed plagiarism check but you are liable to copyright infringement if someone raises.

To OP - It is always better to walk with a new content than a copied content irrespective of it passing plagiarism check.

6 months ago i have bought a domain for one of my adult sites, good domain but with some 404 links, i have take this risk and i have redirect with 301 all of the broken links to my home page, now this domain brings 50k per day visitors. so from my humble experience is much better to start with fresh content instead to try to copy content to rebuild that links, big G isnt stupid.

Not recommended to use copied content. You won't indexed by google. You can get well-written articles from our marketplaces itself.
