You know what, I see some really crap looking landing pages - that seem to work a treat
I see some really pro looking pages (and have created some myself) that convert like a trying to float a rock in a puddle of urine
I've bought course from IM pro's that often just want the buyer of the course to either hire them, or buy their expensive "landing page creator" tool or plugin... (ahem Warrior forum ..cough cough).
A couple of years ago I though.. "Feck this, let's just really look at what the real pros do, those that rank, bank, get traffic and convert like ninja... and copy them"
Stupid simple idea, but a lot harder than I thought. I couldn't find a pattern anywhere. I did hotspot analysis on my own pages, looking for where key elements were placed, which colour schemes worked, fonts, themes, popups,
Before you say anything. Yeah, all these elements really do matter. But they aren't the "WIN".
I began to think there was no eureka moment to this. Then I stopped looking for "tech stuff" ands started just looking at page content.
That drew a blank as well. Language varied a lot, some sites had video others not, some used photos, some not.
Finally I looked at the way the message was structured, and only then did a pattern start to emerge.
Looking back at literally hundreds of other successful sites. Sites that ranked landing pages well and stayed selling the same products year in year out. Manufacturers and product suppliers with world class products that were NASDAQ and FTSE listed, and I saw the pattern. It was on almost every site. It was rock solid, it made sense, and it had been there all along.

There's more to it than that of course. http://www.demondemon.com/2015/01/10/creating-great-landing-pages-in-2015/
But that's the win
