hey, i was wondering if content locking especially with incent offers - like where
you offer them something they wont get (Pokemon coins, free followers and stuff like that...) - is kind of illegal?
Like, could you get reported and brought to court for that?

-"So this guy on the internet promised he'll give me pokeballz and tricked me to download a thing on my phone"
Judge : lmao ok

In general you want to make sure that what you are offering is OK with the network. Also, as a generality, networks that allow content locking are pretty flexible there.

So if i want to offer something, i have to contact my network (affiliate manager) first and ask if thats ok?

Already i know friend from US did content locking stuff ... one of the ppl who completed a survey reported him to FBI ... long short story he got execution by electric chair after court judgement ... but not my friend , the guy who complained ......

I almost always do - I like to have a good relationship with them so that if there are issues they will be on my side.

Alrught. Thanks a lot! :)

This is a civil issue; so whatever is not illegal criminally can get you in trouble in civil courts via private legal action. I don't think your typical Pokemon user will be suing you (due to age/education level) but at the same time, is it ok to steal candy from a baby? Be good to the world...

Content locking is not always nefarious.

Let's say I have a PDF I give out that shows you how to fix a leaky faucet using a banana peel but I want you to pay for it using a survey as opposed to laying out cash?

Or perhaps, I have a method to catch fish no matter what but want you to do an email submit for the info?

There are 4 and a half zillion other examples I could generate if time allowed but of course I won't do that but CLing is used in a lot of areas; in fact one well known news site uses it to unlock content on their site and I go to that site almost daily.
