So you're on here to make money? First you should ask yourself if you want to be a producer or consumer? Those who go on to produce and create are the ones making money. Those stuck in the cycle of consumption are the ones paying the creator's rent bill.
This is obvious but in my mind it seems like there are two types of people in most civilized societies, those who consume and those who produce (supply and demand duh). Sure we all have to consume in order to satisfy our basic necessities, but after a certain level it almost seems like the consumers are the ones getting played. The creators or producers are the ones calling the shots. Look at just about any industry and it's almost like we've all been brainwashed into thinking their products are absolutely necessary for our survival. (Yes I understand this is basically Corporate USA and how capitalism works)
Stepping away from all my philosophy and theory bs, I'd like to make a list of personality trait differences between a consumer and a creator.
So to start off, in my opinion(growing up in the United States), I view your typical consumer as someone who likes convenience, who doesn't like to read fine print, who doesn't look at the big picture. Basically anyone who watches the Kardashians or eats too much fast food.
I believe consumers are easily manipulated or persuaded and we've all become addicted to our consumptions lol. iPhones have become electronic crack and guess who's benefitting from all of us needing our fix? Apple, the creator...
So that brings us to our creator or producer. Once again in my opinion, I view a producer as someone who acknowledges a problem or need and creates a solution. Producers are always innovating, pushing the next big thing, keeping up with demand. So producers are on their feet, thinking outside the box, thinking creatively. Independence isn't a must, but in my view, it seems like if you're able to think for yourself you're already light years ahead of the majority.
IF your goal is to become rich and successful off IM, then you must ask yourself "how do I bridge the gap from being a consumer to becoming the next big producer?" How do you go from being another pair of eyeballs staring at someone else's content to having people view and interact with YOUR content...
