Connor McGregor retires?

Out of the blue, Connor McGregor tweeted that he retires while he is in his prime. Dana White said that he won't be participating in UFC 200 as well.

What do you think guys? Is it a joke?

Doesn't seem a joke
UFC200 is f..ked

May be his decision is influenced by Joao Carvalho's death
or
they ain't paying him what he asked for the fight.

Holly sh8t! It surely seems related to Joao's death and less about the money. And it's no joke it seems.

I am inclined towards the death part.
was really looking forward to his fight with diaz

He's a fucking money whore, and I love it.

He got what he wanted, he's built a brand, he does not need the UFC to survive (and they don't need him)... I fully expect to see him pop up in random movies or create a MMA based TV show like ultimate fighter.

I think he could see a 2nd defeat to Diaz coming and that would show that his hype is better than his skills. No doubt he will un-retire himself after this fight and take a few soft ones first.

Soon it will be revealed why he didnt show up at the UFC 200 hype-conference.

Maybe, it's because he doesn't want to fight anymore but make money out of his brand? He will surely appear sooner or later!

Maybe it's because he was put in his place by Nate Diaz? He's not mentally superior anymore than the average human. That defeat wrecked him and I assume he wanted to defend his belt at UFC200 and dana had something else in mind. So he just said fuck it, I quit.

It didn't wreck him, it just means that he has to get better PEDs than the PEDs Diaz is using.

I saw him tweet that, didn't read any articles on it tho. It's gotta be real

Am I the only one around here who never heard about Connor McWhatever until now?

It wrecked him mentally. Not only did he lose, but he was forced to lose (submission). Not only was he outclassed, it happened with Diaz being given 8 days notice. Granted he was training for a marathon, but that's not the same as training for a fight.

absolute btich. Bet he wishes he retired before diaz

Absolute bitch*... Really? Someone that jumps in a ring and fights no holds barred is a bitch? A man who made more in his short career than other UFC fighters in the game all their lives.. by BEATING other men (while setting records a lot of the time) is a bitch? LOL.. super, tell me another joke please.

IF and that's a strong IF he has actually retired, then fair fucks to him.. I wish him all the happiness in the world. He's got himself and his family set for life and has accomplished more than anyone else in UFC history. I doubt this is the end though. Conor will be around in some form or other, no idea what the game plan is here, but something is brewing.

It is quite interesting to see how things go from now on

Funny that Conor just started following Shane Mcmahon, Stephanie Mcmahon, and Triple H on Twitter. I just want to know how much they offered him.
