Connor McGregor retires?

The first 4 you posted there have all got a better record than McGregor. Most of the 2nd list all hung on too long and got too many defeats late in their careers and should have got out much earlier like Mcgregor is doing. McGregors 19-3 with some real cherry picked bums earlier on just shouts of poor to me but I will concede its probably average. However his marketing machine is awesome and I really don't blame him for getting out with a stack of cash. His team have created an awesome, marketable image and its great to watch it in full swing. Taking the cash and not getting hurt again is a very smart move. I don't know anyone who wouldn't do the same.

Luke Rockhold, 15 - 2 .. Just won the belt, won't hold it for too long.
Dominick* Cruz, 21 - 1 .. Give it to ya, Dom a hell of a fighter.
Demetrious Johnson, 23 - 2 - 1 considered one of the best p4p fighter. still young, will eventually lose.
Daniel Cormier, 17 - 1 .. Not the real champ. going to be 17-2 whenever he faces JBJ then who knows? He's getting old, won't get any better for sure.

Now, some of the greatest fighters of all time :

Anderson Silva = 33 - 7
Shogun Rua = 23 - 10
Fedor = 35 - 4 (most likely the greatest of all time)
Royce Gracie = 15 - 2
Chuck Liddell = 21 - 8
Tito Ortiz = 18-12
Matt Hughes = 45 - 9
Lyoto Machida = 22 - 7
Dan Henderson = 31 - 14

These are considered the BESTS of all time and McGregor is right up there with them. Easy to talk shit when the only thing u ever punched in your life was a soft pillow. Talking shit from the comfort of your home is easy.. Why don't get off your couch and get one or two sparring behind your belt before you call a professional fighter a bitch.

I was just answering your question, not sure why you're getting your knickers in a twist lol. Like I said I wasn't saying his record was bad, wouldn't even have him in top 10 mma fighters of all time though.
Maybe bitch was the wrong word, I'll use bottle job or something like that instead in future. As I said before I've sparred often in the past cheers, I expect against people who hit nearly as hard as him, obviously not as good but much bigger. Really not sure what thats got to do with anything though.
Hes a professional sportsmen who clearly likes to put himself in the limelight so people should be allowed to give their opinion on him just as with any other sport and my opinion is that hes now a bottle job :)

Conor just posted this to his Facebook account in response to being pulled out of UFC 200:

I am just trying to do my job and fight here.
I am paid to fight. I am not yet paid to promote.
I have become lost in the game of promotion and forgot about the art of fighting.
There comes a time when you need to stop handing out flyers and get back to the damn shop.
50 world tours, 200 press conferences, 1 million interviews, 2 million photo shoots, and at the end of it all I'm left looking down the barrel of a lens, staring defeat in the face, thinking of nothing but my incorrect fight preparation. And the many distractions that led to this.
Nothing else was going through my mind.
It is time to go back and live the life that got me this life.
Sitting in a car on the way to some dump in Conneticut or somewhere, to speak to Tim and Suzie on the nobody gives a fuck morning show did not get me this life.
Talking to some lady that deep down doesn't give a fuck about what I'm doing, but just wants some sound bites so she can maybe get her little tight ass a nice raise, and I'm cool with that too, I've been giving you all raises. But I need to focus on me now.
I'm coming for my revenge here.
I flew an entire team to Portugal and to Iceland to make my adjustments in preparation and fix my errors I made with the weight and the cardio prep.
With the right adjustments and the right focus, I will finish what I started in that last fight.
I will not do this if I am back on the road handing out flyers again.
I will always play the game and play it better than anybody, but just for this one, where I am coming off a loss, I asked for some leeway where I can just train and focus. I did not shut down all media requests. I simply wanted a slight adjustment.
But it was denied.
There had been 10 million dollars allocated for the promotion of this event is what they told me.
So as a gesture of good will, I went and not only saved that 10 million dollars in promotion money, I then went and tripled it for them.
And all with one tweet.
Keep that 10 mill to promote the other bums that need it. My shows are good.
I must isolate myself now.
I am facing a taller, longer and heavier man. I need to prepare correctly this time.
I can not dance for you this time.
It is time for the other monkeys to dance. I've danced us all the way here.
Nate's little mush head looks good up on that stage these days. Stuff him in front of the camera for it.
He came in with no shit to do that last one. I'd already done press conferences, interviews and shot the ads before RDA pulled out.
Maybe I'll hit Cabo this time and skull some shots pre-fight with no obligation.
I'm doing what I need for me now.
It is time to be selfish with my training again. It is the only way.
I feel the $400million I have generated for the company in my last three events, all inside 8 months, is enough to get me this slight leeway.
I am still ready to go for UFC 200.
I will offer, like I already did, to fly to New York for the big press conference that was scheduled, and then I will go back into training. With no distractions.
If this is not enough or they feel I have not deserved to sit this promotion run out this one time, well then I don't know what to say.
For the record also -
For USADA and for the UFC and my contract stipulations -
I AM NOT RETIRED.

Gotta give he guy credit, he's a worker, and I respect that.

Boom.. and that's why Conor is a legend!

Damn, I need to cancel my family size order of chicken wings!! I was planning betting for the first time, oh well!

phew....

had t0mmy on suicide watch there for a while ;P + conor makes shit far more exciting to watch.

Not sure if straight blast gym in belfast would survive conor retiring either, good i have a place to go and train next month again =D

It was touch and go there for a few days mang xD

And after all after all the media bullsh*t, Connor McGregor is going to fight for UFC 200.

Pretty obvious though really. I called it last week: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/blackhat-lounge/838175-connor-mcgregor-retires.html#post8849794

Danna White tweeted that they haven't talked with Connor and his manager and he doesn't know why Connor said that to the public

So he wants to go back on the card now he knows Diaz will be safely out of the country?
