Hey everyone,

I'm planning to launch my own video streaming site—something like a niche platform with user-uploaded content and some stuff that might not be loved by every country's copyright laws.

I keep seeing a lot of hosting providers offering “Offshore Video Streaming Hosting”—and I’m honestly confused. What exactly does offshore mean in this context? Is it just about server location, or are there legal benefits too?

I’ve come across a few names, but one that stood out was QloudHost. They claim to offer 100% DMCA Ignored and Offshore Video Streaming Hosting. Has anyone here tried them or understands how that works? Do they really ignore takedown notices?

Also, does using offshore hosting affect streaming speed or video quality for users? Would appreciate any real experience or advice before I commit.

Thanks in advance!

Depend what you want to do, do you want to host yourself all the videos or just embed them in your site, as there is already plenty of video hosters and if you have not the technical knowledge and the vision it will really be a hassle to host them yourself, not even counting the cost

Would love an update on your journey! Have you been able to grow your site? :)

OP uses IA to post, who will bold the company in the text? Specially only 1.

They are just resellers of SpectraIP and KoDDoS aka Amakaru, they don't own the IPs.
Just other indian company which "promises", by reading their TOS is likely to run away.

Just take a look in where big players like Torrents, File Hostings, Public Trackers uses their servers and done.
Like Z-Library and Libgen, TPB, 1337x, Nyaa.si etc.

If you have limited budget, I think you can consider using free video hosting service. You can host content and stream videos, all you need to do is upload content and get embed link to embed on your website

You surely need an offshore hosting, where your server is located in an offshore location, but the company should be vigilant that if a complaint come they ask you to remove that specific URL or content and keep the server up, actually all offshore locations like countries have their own laws, so if there is a complaint made by the relevant authority, your host should ask you to remove that specific content and keep the server active. Offshore hosting actually means that your physical server will be present in an offshore location.

Onshore/offshore isn't actually important. Because, at first, you'll get DMCA request and almost any hosting company will force you to follow it, otherwise server will be closed. In very rare cases it turns into legal cases, but only if you host something really bad (cp, etc).

Nice catch!

I'm curious how do you know what VPS do they resell? Are you a client of theirs?
Same as Fam, would be interested to know if you're a customer of QCH and any further feedback you can share. Never had any issues with SpectralP or KODDOS, but would rather go straight to the source than a reseller and have seen their name heavily promoted recently...
