These past 2 weeks have been absolutely terrible for my website rankings so I've been digging around and doing some research. I compared backlinks for big authority sites, MNS, and everything in between. One thing that really stood out was that... Now, I know this is one of the oldest and most commonly known things about SEO, but there is a bit of a twist that I began to notice... The ratio between new content and blackhat links How many people have been hit lately for unnatural links? Threads are popping up everyday about penalties and sites getting deindexed. Would you believe that there is somebody ranking for a 300k super hot KW by ONLY using ALN blasts? Why hasn't he got hit? I'd say the 4-5 new, unique posts he is cranking out everyday plays a huge role. I've seen this same thing happen several times in the past, a site at #1 using extremely blackhat techniques that other sites get penalized for. The main difference is that they are pushing out new content on a daily/weekly basis. This is nothing really groundbreaking, but SEO is always changing and just keep in mind that fresh, unique content will always play a big role in boosting you to the top...and apparently let you get away with more blackhat types of backlinking.
