This was new to me, just made some tests sending some likes to comments and they moved the comment from the bottom of the list to the top in "most relevant" and "all comments" filters. Geo Targeting even not needed. Where could it be used? Is it same for TikTok and Instagram? But there it seems a bit more difficult to get it.

From what I’ve seen, comment likes definitely help push a comment higher, especially when the thread is active. It's like a small signal of engagement to the algorithm. Curious to hear if anyone has tested it in different sections of the forum too!

TikTok relies heavily on algorithms to determine what content appears, including comments. Commenting and getting likes can help drive engagement, but it’s not as obvious as Facebook.

Please, can you explain the Facebook algorithm in the aspect of commenting?

I am placing my theory of youtube comments but you can try it for facebook too. I believe it will work just my two cents

While both TikTok and Instagram are social media platforms that focus on visual content and user interaction, their algorithms and how comments work can be different. TikTok is known for its powerful “For You Page” (FYP) algorithm, which prioritizes content based on a user’s personal interests. Interactions (likes, comments, shares) play an important role. on Instagram While Likes can have an impact, they are probably not as powerful and direct as on TikTok.

The number of likes a comment receives is certainly an important factor in helping it stand out, especially when the discussion is hot. It’s like a “vote” of confidence, showing that many people agree or care about the idea, and this can be a signal to the algorithm to prioritize that comment higher. However, it’s important to remember that each social platform has its own algorithm, with different factors and weights in how comments are evaluated and ranked.

It could work on TikTok and Instagram, though their algorithms are more intricate.

comment likes definitely boost comments. it's like a little signal of engagement. i'm curious if anyone has tested it in other parts of the forum

That's the algorithm of Facebook and Tik Tok but on Facebook it's more obvious that when you like a comment or reply to a comment, those comments will be displayed at the top like that. Prioritizing these things that have significant interaction and encourage people to update the latest information

Like or like comments appear first and Facebook will update the latest comments on top to make it easier for everyone to see this is Facebook algorithm

Like or reply to a comment it all increases the ranking of that comment because Facebook has the feature of updating the latest information and the most visited by many people. It will be displayed regularly and at the top.

Likes on comments help push comments to the top of the popular filter, increasing organic visibility. Some other platforms also apply a similar mechanism, but the algorithm may be different so more testing is needed to optimize.

On TikTok and IG, timing + early engagement + profile trust (follower/following ratio) matters more than just like count.

Tiktok and Facebook are not the same when it comes to comments

If your comment has many reactions, it will be prioritized to be at the top of the posts.
