Closing Off BHW From The World

Do you want to close off BHW to non-members?

The users are the ones contributing most of the content here anyway, not the BHW founders or admins (not saying they also contribute).

If there was a fee though, most/some of the profits should go to users who have given the most. How that would be calculated in a fair way, is another question altoghether (although I'm thinking maybe by how many thanks a topic has received). This would probably give more incentive for people to post USEFUL/INTERESTING stuff.

Agree.It's not about paying a dime,but as we know,whenever anyone post a good trick or a hole to get something,we can see it immediatly on other forums so it causes oversaturation.Affiliate managers from all networks are reading this forum,we actually say them if you see someone earns with this style he is earning with blackhat,method is here.

Got an idea -
You want to allow ignorants only with fee?
Demand any new member to have a website(ask him to upload something to it).
If he doesn't, offer him to get one through an affiliate link.
This way it wouldn't even look like a fee.
 
maybe i small yearly fee like $10 or something but nothing monthly
 
So many people are in favor of the invite system,

I just keep thinking how much they will be sold for on DP??

I dont know people that would like this site, i am sure others are the same way, so what to do with the invites? not use them, or if you can get some cash???

I look for that to happen. I dont see myself doing it, but am sure it will be done.
 
Options:
1. charge for membership
2. charge for certain part of forum
3. Leave it absolutely free
4. Ask payment from new members henceforth/monthly/yearly

Any other options can continue after thsi post.
I ll go with the option number 4, thinking from admin point of view as well as other members point of view
 
Maybe adding a moderate-intermediate test on IM in general, covering alot of topics from PPC ----- CPA Of course it wont be 100% bulletproof but you could do a multiple choice with over 1000's of questions in which they change every time a user try's to sign up.

The questions can be created by current BHW users, you could also ban their IP address from redoing the test for about 24 hours, or blacklisting their email address. But of course anyone who really wants to get into BHW can, but then again they deserve to...they have some blackhat blood.

This system would dramatically decrease the amount of newbies entering the forum, and decrease the noob questions

That`s actually not a bad idea. If you can join,then you deserve to be here. Watch out dark age,we`re coming back! :D
 
I think if you dont close it off and charge 9$ a month you will get alot more people that are serious about BH and cut out the riffraff
 
Kinda sad admin is seriously considering this. How do you think bhw got to be the way it is? (not by charging people 9$ monthly.) Just think of all the new members that have come to the forums and shared some valuable info, because they thought the forums helped them, so they decided to help back. If I didn't know about the forums and didn't know what it had to offer and was being asked for a 9$ monthly fee, I would turn around and find some other forums. To tell you the truth if a 9$ would be charged I would be debating wether to stay or go, aren't you guys making enough money off of black hat university? I don't feel the forums should be making bank from the publics idea's, because that is what powers these forums. Yes, people leech a bunch of stuff and companies hire people to lookout for what is going on, but if a twist is put on this and that, its a completely new idea. If you guys made these forums invite only, that would be fine, but charging the fee is what I would be against.

i totally agree with Fingus's idea of a free forum where members would need an invite from Jr VIP to join or maybe a $20 for a 6 month subscription would work too but we should not forget that every thing good in life doesn't have to be price tagged.
 
i like the idea of jrvp having invitations...
i agree there are more and more people asking stupid questions here
 
I voted to keep the forum public.

But I hope that the forum will be kept away from search engines. As this could probably help to prevent the abuse of certain techniques shared in this forum as well as keeping unwanted visitors away.

I believe that the member base of this forum should not continue to grow based on the traffic from search engines. Instead it should be based on an invite system. Although I do agree that the system wherer only Jr.Vip's can invite new members is a good one but it would not be feasible. As you can't expect Jr.Vip's to keep on inviting people to the forum.

Therefore I would like to suggest that all members to have the power to invite people to the forum. However their invitations are based on their rank. For example, normal members 1 invites, Jr.Vip 2 invites and etc. As this will help to keep new members coming into the forum.
 
An invite system sounds good.
Should be limited to Jr. Vip or similar
 
I voted to keep private and pay a fee. being a member of DominateIM, BHU and BHW I have no problems paying for the quality of information I receive every day. Hell, there is so much information around here that I feel like I'm in college.

Since I am a member of DP, I agree that DP is totally out of control and would not want the same thing to happen here.
 
Why not create a mixed system ?
We should not keep good heads out, and we'd loose very good people if the forum is requireing a fee.
On the other side, would we gain quality through a fee ?

Maybe a mix, invitation OR fee would be better.
But if you want quality I'd remove the whole fee idea at all.

Invitations are a way to increase quality, if people invite scammers or stupids then they risk their own account or a suspension.
 
I think $10/month would be a reasonable fee for ALL members, including JrVP. The fee could be waived for a month if a member provides quality downloads, where "quality" is measured by the number of reps given. Say, 1 month free for every 100 reps?

I think board should close and new registrations are possible only via invitations like Demonoid. No fees for new registrations.

but if fee is a must make it lifetime fee like DNF

So it will not make any harm to the board.

By mistake i Voted on Wrong Pole | I think it Must Shut to the new members and i dont mind paying fees too | But i prefer words ( invitation ) Will atleast be fine for users to come in. If invitations r limited to JrVip or Donors.. Az being reputed members must make something Special :fencing:
