cloning a website !

Hi,

I am just wondering about the process of cloning a website, is it so easy or take a lot of research and hard work ??

I just found that script on codecanyon called SiteCloner. I just want to know what are its limits, will it do the job (I red its description but didn't fully get it) ?? Or will it take a manual work ?? If yes, where I can find such people ?

If it is wordpress and you own the site use WP Clone - it is a free plugin that works very well and takes just minutes at most.

I think if you're worried about it's difficulties, I would just go to Fiverr, find a highly rated website clone specialist and pay them $5 and call it a day. I know how to do it personally, in fact I'm a web designer, but I don't like to do it myself because it's not worth the time to me. I would much rather have somebody do it for $5 while I work on the bigger stuff. Cloning a website requires keeping the database in tact as well, so be sure if you do it yourself that you take the time to do it right.

It's worth it. Migrating a site can be a big pain. Keep that in mind. You want to be the guy who is fast and efficient and taking hours upon hours to research it is more risky than just paying the $5 to get it done.
 
Backup Buddy is the plugin in Wordpress. It's easy to clone your site. You can try that.
 
HTtrack is great if you want to clone simple websites (html/css/jq). Its free too! ;)

5bucks on fiver or backup and do it yourself. Many free Wordpress plugin can do it with 1 click.

Cloning a site is not good with duplicate content. You have to turn off not index your new clone and rewrite it all before let bots index your new clone or Google will let you down.
 
My company was recently screwed by a marketing company, they took close to a quarter million dollars in advanced fees to fish for new clients and registrants for our seminars. Trust me, that was like all the money our company had and this guy just off an ran with it....he was supposed to provide hundreds of new clients (he signed a contract and is now being a bitch about it) He had ownership of our domain, and is refusing to give it back. I've used httrack, and have it cloned on a new domain. Httrack doesn't give you the php files though, so all i can do is literally clone it...i have zero access to the website. Anyone know a good way to snag the database off his domain before he closes it down......?

Also, filed a BBB against him, but i wanna do more....put his cell on every gay chat room , submit his email address to be bombarded etc....any ideas?

I hate to say it my friend but this looks like a hard lesson to learn. For a quarter million dollars I could have helped you get more than a few clients just from using paid advertising sources online. You cannot get those files back without having access to his database. You could hire somebody like myself to start fresh, but. The truth is you're in a bad position. The domain being purchased by him means he owns it. I wouldn't have expected a business owner with a quarter million to invest would use it all on one guy up front without seeing results along the way? Let me know if I can help bud.

I'm the IT tech for the company not the investor...and I'm also pissed cuz I don't get anywhere near that much...I smelled this guys bullshit from a mile away....warned against it and was ignored...and now guess whose job it is to fix all the bullshit?
 
Well at least you know who he is... the possibilities for revenge are endless.. ;)

Ah, that is frustrating. With investing you don't really put all your money into one stock. You spread it across a multitude of stocks in order to decrease chances of a big failure. In the same way investing standpoint $250k would be better spent $10k per month on Adwords, $10k per month on media buys, $10k for the original website design, etc. And over time you can get a lot more for your money.
 
No,there is no limit set in cloner plugin,you can clone unlimited number of websites.
You may look into the sites to know about the cloning process,
clone PHP and Ncrypted
 
Try HTTrack website copier it can be able to copy all the HTML CSS JS in the website.
It allows you to download world wide website from the internet to local Directory.
HTTrack arranges the original site- link structure.
Then you can edit those functionalities.
