After a few months of making some decent money on eGay, they limited my 5yo spotless account to 15 sales a month without giving a reason. To be honest, I think they have done me a favour - all my time was being spent packaging stuff and appeasing idiotic buyers. When I started this in July, my mission was to make money while I slept, and work proactively when I worked, so eGy was only 50% what I wanted. Anyway, as a result of them limiting me I started reading up on Affiliate marketing, spending my time researching and learning.

Today I started on my first product through clickbank. I've identified a very good keyphrase with 345 views a day, 31k comp, low comp in the top 10 (mostly green on samurai and the top rank in google is actually a yahoo answers page lol) and wrote a damn good article on squidoo. Next is to work on building the website I created a few months ago into a review site, which I'll start on tomorrow with the product I've already identified. I'll build that up for the next 2 months until I have 50-60 products affiliated, then go to work on my own products to package and sell digitally. I'll pretty much be spending all my time on articles/research and outsource the backlinking through guys I have used on here.

Sound good? I think so!

Anyway I'll be updating here regurlarly with my progress, any help or suggestions would be welcome.

Sounds great keep up the good work. Ebay has done the same thing to me multiple times on both there and paypal. I am looking to start using clickbank as well. May I ask what are you using for products? Whats your niche? How are you promoting it?
Thanks feel free to message me or add me on skype: jim.bob213

No offense bud, but I spent 4 hours today searching for a niche product and for keyphrases that were quality, then another 2 hours writing a squidoo lens with keyphrase-rich content, I'm not about to give that information away.

All I'll say is if you did the same research, you'd find your own.

Will be following to see how much you're earning when it's all said and done. :]

After about 18 hours since my first post, I realised this: whatever you think you can make from an affiliate per month, quadruple it. Instead write and package your own products, then get your own affiliates.

I'm very excited at the possibilities and opportunities out there if you're willing to reseach and put some degree of effort in. I estimate that a week of research will give me a product that makes a minimum of $20k per year. Then it is a case of rinse and repeat to "scale it up".

Watch this space.....

I wish you the best on your journey ..all the best

Good luck, I will follow this thread to see how its going!

Please update more. Need earnings and such!

Very interesting. I definitely would like to watch this topic. I have not spent near enough time her to learn what I need to learn to make things happen. I need to make a point to visit and research at least a couple of times a week.

I'm making minimal affiliate sales from a personal design related blog, but would like to create a few niche sites and really focus on making the money.

I run a web design business and am hating it! When someone buys a finished product like say a dress, they don't come back a week later and ask the cashier to add a pink ribbon to the bottom of it for free. I mean it's more like, oh can you change the color, and oh can you make the entire thing green instead of brown, and oh can you add this or that or make it bark like the Bart's Toaster site? That's how web design is, and my rates are way too low.

I've developed some digital products and am starting to make traction with sales - money while I sleep, woot! Ready to expand into other arenas.

I apologize if this post is off topic. I think it may be my 2nd reply here.

At first... post like these were called journals.... now they are called missions.

Things are getting serious.

So today marks the start of my first full week, there is lots to be done. I'll certainly be kept busy in the coming months!

After doing some research, I'm going to hold off from making my own products to begin with, simply because it will be more profitable to start by diversifying my products and sell multiple affiliates' goods. After all, if I spend a month creating one product, it may not sell! However, in that time I could possiby have multiple products selling in other niches.

First off I'll be turning the website I already have into a sort of "squeeze" site, with multiple squeeze pages in one place giving away free stuff in exchange for an email. The advantages of doing this is the website is already running and indexed, so should start seeing more traffic than if I set up individual pages. Also, the site has a "brand" feel to it, and any future email marketing can go out with that "brand" on it - make sense? They'll all be in different niches, which I'll categorize on the site and through Aweber. This sort of sucks because it means I'll have to spend $1 to set up the autoresponder service for the first month.

Great, earnings so far = minus $1!!

Then I'll create another site (another $8 on a domain name, sheesh that will be minus $9, this is getting expensive lol!) in a dedicated niche with a link to an affilate that I found the weekend, then just rinse and repeat until I start seeing success.

Doing the backlinking is going to suck to start, simply because I am not gonna start paying others to do it until I've made some $$, after all I'm already going to be down 10 bucks by the time the niche site is up!

All the while, I'll be getting "customers" to go on my email marketing list, so I need to find some free shit to give away. Any suggestions? Is there anywhere on BHW that has free ebooks etc to repackage and give away?

Thanks for reading, and for any help or advice.

Definitely gonna follow this. Wish you good Luck and waiting to hear about your Success

I think in my defiance of letting problems get to me, I have stumbled upon a good thing....

My unlimited hosting is with ipage, but they charge a friggin fortune (over $20) for registering .com domains. I needed to buy a new domain for the niche website I designed, so I bought one from godaddy for about 8 bucks after registering a code, which I was then going to transfer to ipage and host.

However, in the smallprint (which I obv missed) it said I couldn't transfer the domain for 6 weeks, bummer. Now I was left with a domain which I couldn't host for 6 weeks and a niche website I had designed that I couldn't go live with. So, I thought "sod it" and bought a 1 month hosting plan from godaddy for about $5 for 4 weeks - I just wanted to get the site live.

After getting the site and squeeze pages set up, I got a message from godaddy that I had a $50 FREE facebook credits voucher!.

Long story short, I now have a $50 advert on facebook, targeted at people who would be interested in my niche after spending just $13!!

This basically means that so far I have spent $14 on domains hosting and an autoresponder, have 3 clickbank products affiliated with me AND I have $50 advertising on facebook that cost me ZERO! All in about 7 days!!

Now I just need a sale to get me started....

Dude, why are you transferring when you could just redirect the servers?
