I applied for a number of programs on Commission Junction and was instantly declined for several of them. How do they make the determination on whether or not to accept you so quickly? Are there settings in CJ I can tweak to maybe get approved?

They may auto decline for a number of reasons, for example if you are listed as a US publisher and it is a UK account, quite frequently these will be auto declined. Probably best to contact the account management team. They are generally quite good at accepting if your site is decent.

This can also occur
1. When you are new.

2. When you have been inactive for some time.

Well something similar happened to me with a new cj account, since I was new and without conversion history or something (I guess), every application I was applied for remained in pending for weeks, until the account got closed for inactivity...
