Hostgator is a joke. if you cannot afford to pay your commissions, then dont offer them

>> I am sorry, however we do not award commission for referring yourself as a client.

You told that you used totally white hat solution, if so, then these guys are bastards. But if you used cookie stuffing with the most simple iframe solution then the referring site will look "blank" to CJ, thats why they might consider that YOU have directly entered the cookie placing affiliate URL in the browser and then signed up from different IP yourself. But if you have a link that was clicked on white hat site then they should see your site as reffer and there shouldn't be any problems.

So if you have a white hat affiliate link on your site then they are just bs'ing you. :(

Geez, Billygood! You ought to start your own Internet Market self-help legal advice!

Really, I learned more about procedure in that post than my current $2000+ in legal fees involving my wife's case concerning her X's defunt child support!

Thanks again,
Rob

somethings about small claims court that you need to know. Even if the other party does not show up. You still have to validate your claim.

In reviewing the CJ tos and the host gator TOS, it might say that you have to follow certain steps in order to file a claim against them or might say arbitration ( which in most cases is legal ) is the only way to resolve disputes.

now excluding those items, you would want to prepare the case in the following manner.

a) terms from CJ
b) terms from Host Gator
c) your traffic logs
d) your click logs to host gator
e) records of the sign-ups from host gator ( ip proof might also be included )
f) HG refusal to pay,
g) CJ refusal to deal with the issue ( don't forget to cite the terms why they refuse )

you might need the following :
validation from all the sign-ups proving that your not related to them.

beyond that it will be the judge that makes the ruling based on the facts presented.

If it was me, I would show a logic flow of the process, starting from the persons search, to your landing page, to the sign-up to the confirmation ......
nice and big with easy on the eyes logic.

if your lucky and you win, the judge might call a recess and invite you into his chambers to get a better explanation of what you do, If your real lucky, the judge might request that you be on his rolodex for important questions dealing with this type of subject ( don't refuse, since being a judges hot-line guy has certain power of benefit and it pays off real well if you can articulate very well ) or help him with his blog.

in any way, small claims court still requires you to prove your side. so take the 20 or 30 hours and do a proper presentation.

billy good - cause I always bill them good

I had this same problem with Hostgator on CJ. I had 5 sales that I made all reversed! I honestly think they are scamming people for free signups. I have never recieved a payout from them, everything gets reversed.

I had same problems with Hostgator but I did the promoting directly through their site. I did a sale yesterday and my friend is the one that bought the hosting (whitehat). It was ok till yesterday and today I checked my stats the sale was labelled "fraud". WTF?!

I had the same prob last month, a pure whitehat sale called fraud but I didn't know who signed up, now I know it was my friend. Sent them an email and waiting for their reply.

well . if you are going to join any program in CJ first Check their 3 Months and 7 days EPC
to make sure how well they pay to their affiliates and try to find offers which they 3 months and 7 days EPC are close to each other , usually 7 days EPC is higher than 3 months.

Next you should be aware that those Hosting companies and its better to say all offers in any fields , the advertisers will Shave your commissions in the way that it makes profit for them.

some of them shave more and some less , it depends on you and the money you make for them
If you are making lots of order for them then they try to keep the shaving rate on a scale that keep you working with them , they are open for negotiation with affiliates who makes above 30+ sales for them.

their other trick is paying some commission at first to attract you to promote their links
as far as you send them traffic they will start shaving some of your Orders.

if a Hosting company says honestly that i will pay $20 or 20% of sales as commission no one will join that program because every body look at the commission amount for each sales such as 100 , $120 and so on.

AffGuy, if you own the site in your sig, well done man! love it! :)
and also very good domain name.
