I didn't search the news. My bad!

So, state govts will have to ask Google to block certain websites for their country. This is ridiculous. I expect a fight between google and state. Or, maybe there will be country level proxies. But then, this feature won't be very effective.

Am I right with this analysis or I am missing something.

in my eyes this is like shitty opera VPN, but just done by google on larger scale
google is rebranding it, making it sound better, it wont call it "vpn" or anything like that and it will 100% get popular(people wont even know that they are using it)

This can be easily bypass by using other browser if google block it on chrome. and user will be moving to other browser.

doesn't make sense at all.

This IP routing is more to kill those third party ads competitors

I'm wondering how is this supposed to work when it comes to verification

I guess the only thing that it means for bulk account creation is that now all services will require to enter phone number cause there will be no way to judge by an ip address

I doubt it will work the other way around cause as we know, they get more strict

Read the news again. Users of chrome will love it. Free proxy that can bypass ads and censorship.

It will only bypass third party ads which is not serve by google.

Meaning that, google will be the only company who can serve all their users with their ads. Eventually, google will be the only one earn from offering ads.

Google want the same control that ISP providers have nowadays,
