Alright this is the most insane piece of news I've ever posted here

Can't even begin to fathom how absurd this is

Google wants to route the world's traffic through their servers, essentially becoming a global proxy server

This turns the WWW into AOL, for the older ones among us who still remember

The web becomes Google's social network, essentially locking everyone in their network

I can't even .....

This is plain simply insane

For goodness sake people, whatever yiu are doing, this Google shit can't be an alternative to your regular proxy server.

I do hope they'll face a bigger law suit for this as to not let it happen.
 
This is borderline stupid. If some idiot does something stupid, then everyone else using the same IP will risk getting banned from different services and forums
 
they're just trying to patch the unlimited gmail account trick I'm sure

I don't know how it would help them with this but who knows what those clowns will come up with

At this point, Google wants control over the whole web. Desktop users with Chrome and mobile users with Android + Chrome. This shit is wild.

As an SEO guy and also an app developer I stopped using Android phones and Google Chrome (or any other Google product such as gmail) a long time ago. Can't trust Google at all.

But it would be amazing for blackhat purposes obviously with Google's market power.

They're playing good cop and bad cop. One selling data, another protecting it. Meanwhile it's a trojan horse scheme and all is done to sell more data.

customizing content based on user location (which comes from IP) is essential to good UX
