I can answer your questions about China and I have added your QQ(actually, you know quite a lot about China).
First, Baidu is the biggest and most popular SE(search engine) in China and anybody who surf on the Internet will use it, it is something like google search.
Sougou, to some extent , is used by many people as an input method tool, for the other products of Sougou, I have nothing to say because of the less usage.
Search 360 is expert on antivirus program and do better than Sougou on the field of SE, but less popular than Baidu.

For the Chinese translators, you'd better hire someone who are Chinese and know something about the Internet and SNS.

Renren is out of date now for many people, but it is also according to your requirement. Weibo Sina and Wechat app are the most popular SNS in China.

Rest of you: Great! I haven't done enough spamming to receive PMing privilege yet, but here are my currently most burning questions:
1. Are press releases doable in China? Is it normal/OK to just write to journalist and inform them on your conference/product launch/exhibition opening and expect they will publish an article about it? It is quite common practice here, in western world, but I'm suspecting it is considered corrupt in China...

2. Is it possible/OK to add article in Baidu Baike on not very known people or companies? On Wikipedia these get immediately removed
