Hi dear, I can definitely show you around in China. I used to study abroad in Canada for seven years, now back to China to settle down. If you have any questions, you can let me know.

    Hi JureJ,
I can answer your questions about China and I have added your QQ(actually, you know quite a lot about China).
First, Baidu is the biggest and most popular SE(search engine) in China and anybody who surf on the Internet will use it, it is something like google search.
Sougou, to some extent , is used by many people as an input method tool, for the other products of Sougou, I have nothing to say because of the less usage.
Search 360 is expert on antivirus program and do better than Sougou on the field of SE, but less popular than Baidu.

For the Chinese translators, you'd better hire someone who are Chinese and know something about the Internet and SNS.

Renren is out of date now for many people, but it is also according to your requirement. Weibo Sina and Wechat app are the most popular SNS in China.

I can help you about Chinese Market if you tell me more about your plan.

BTW, anyone who wanna know about China and Chinese Market can PM me, I will do my best to help you.

    • Thanks Thanks x 2

Thanks everyone for your responses and homefry for bumping the thread!

yokiyoung: yay :) I received several friend requests on QQ. Which one is you? (what profile picture do you have?)
I'd definitely like to have a talk with you. What timezone do you live in if it's not a secret? I'm (currently) UTC+1.

AcSol and homefry: If you're interested in this topic too, we can form a QQ group on it. It would be lovely to hear from you

Rest of you: Great! I haven't done enough spamming to receive PMing privilege yet, but here are my currently most burning questions:
    1. Are press releases doable in China? Is it normal/OK to just write to journalist and inform them on your conference/product launch/exhibition opening and expect they will publish an article about it? It is quite common practice here, in western world, but I'm suspecting it is considered corrupt in China...

    2. Is it possible/OK to add article in Baidu Baike on not very known people or companies? On Wikipedia these get immediately removed
