ch1na didn't ban the internet, the truth is that ch1na is more strict with the internet censor. individual will not allow to register domain name, the domain registered aboard will be into the blacklist of G/F*W or other something like that if the domain don't put on the go*vernm*ent's record. stop individual domain registration is executiving. ban individual domain aboard is on the way.

good sites expecially web 2.0 sites will be banned, no matter where it is, for news/messages on these sites spread too fast out of g0v's control. some ch1nese big sites like sina.com, xin*hua*net.com, ch1nadaily.com are two-face, you guys know what happen in ch1na from english sites, but we know nothing from ch1nese sites. funny? but it's truth. another reason why ch1na strengthen the control of internet is that g0v omitted the capability making money before, and they realize it someday, so they control it to monetize from people. shoot two birds in one arrow, they can woke up with smile.

how to monetize on this, just see godaddy and ixwebhosting, two smart guys. they cooperate with alipay which biggest third party pay company like paypal in c*h*ina, the individual who ip is in ch1na can pay in RMB when people buy domain or host, for credit card is not much popular in ch1na.
IMO, what is the most shortage for ch1nese individual webmaster(not need to consider ordinary people, they would not open a english site)? first, the connect way from ch1na to us, you can create proxy site, make sure the site's ip is not ban by G*F/W, the faster the better in speed, you can add some ads and make money from it. another shortage is bank card or international credit card, but it's dangerous for yourself and i can't give the safe way for that. if you can solve the security problem, it would be great potentialities to make a ton of money.

When the gov set up firewall to block things. Can I do anything to connect to the world?

At the moment facebook.com is blocked for me ( i live in vietnam). I heard some rumors that one day, VietNam will follow China to ban many international websites to encourage local sites (which are shit..) and to black out any harmful content to the government.

Does using REMOTE DESKTOP CONTROL to USA server solve this?

Our world is changing rapidly. I blame "politicians" 100%. I am extremely fiscally conservative and somewhat socially liberal. Republicans, while I am a registered member of the party, were so bad that the far left made it into office because of the backlash. The extremely liberal democrats, (see Nanci Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chris Dodd, Barack Obama) are now in power and taking what the republicans did to a whole new level. They are essentially destroying our country with their big government communistic takeover.

They block them sites lol they are stupid. THey have realy good sites for torrents and pirate films they are not blocked lol My gf is chinese . and they have created a chinese version of fb and the same for the rest of the blocked sites. They most want to steal the idea and keep all of the money

This can easily be monitized by offering a cheap VPN Service. There are alot about but if you can a high rank in google, be prepared for alot of money.

they do have their own version of Facebook (its called renren.com) ..for youtube they have Youku so thats why I guess many chinese people don't even bother if sites getting blocked.
