Checking in!

Glad you're fine mate. Try EyeLeo and enable strict mode, it will force you take a long break hourly.

be carefull most blood thinners are making dependent after using it longer than 30 days

Seriously Vrill, this is not a situation to be peddling your medical nonsense to someone!

If someone has suffered a thrombosis, they require anticoagulants and they almost certainly require them for longer than 30 days. Especially after a large clot, which is what jstover77 said he had.

Firstly, the blood clot needs to be dealt with and removed from the body safely, because it still poses a danger until it's gone

And secondly anticoagulants prevent further episodes. They are an essential precaution and they save lives.

@jstover77

Take absolutely no notice of what Vrill said. Taking his advice would be more dangerous than flying cattle-class to Mars.

Dam bro glad you're doing better. Also, BTB's advice on cycling is great. We know it's not as manly as your running, but I think you'll end up liking it.
Take it easy and I hope to see you guys in Vegas

Very inspiring to read, Glad you made out alive, and with a positive outlook. Stay strong and healthy, J.

Glad you're ok. And you're right we need to take more care of ourselves. So easy to just sit around all day.

jstover77 (thought this name meant you were a senior, ha!), glad you are making your way back to full health.

Great idea on standing desks by others here.

Anybody got any other desk recommendations?
Very, very similar style desk at Ergodepot. In fact, looks like they offer the same mechanisms as the Evodesks for raising/lowering the desk.

Code:
http://www.ergodepot.com/Popular_standing_desks_s/181.htm

When I priced out the two, this one is cheaper, and the Evodesk charges shipping, whereas this Ergodepot one does not. Don't know if taxes apply.

But if this is what you plan to do on the desk...
I'm 37, work out almost every day, play softball in 2 leagues, have sex with my wife at least twice a year...very healthy.
...then you might be more interested in something more heavy duty:
Code:
http://www.nextdesks.com/terra-pro
It's rated at 630 lbs, so have at er! ;)

I know how you feel I had the same exact thing happened to me last February 2014... I was shoveling snow one day and ran out of breath with serious back aches, the next day what I thought was back aches was getting worst (it was my lungs actually). I was running out of breath for the smallest things and at night I couldn't even read my daughter bed time story without running out of breath... So the next day I dropped her of at school and went to the ER well I came out 4 days later I had pulmonary embolism. It started from my left leg and went to my lungs. They don't know what caused it but I use to drive about 80,000km/year that's prolly what caused it (sitting in the car for long periods of time) took me about 3 months to fully recover. Happened at the same age as you...Dunno about you but I have to do monthly visits to the hospital to have blood checked INR levels. Blood thinners do make you tired (sleepy) and I tend to be grumpy quite often haha but I have a little 6 yr that keeps me smiling...

That doesnt change the fact that blood thinner are making dependent.I'm not claiming it just by joke but i had to use myself once blood thinner because of a tinnitus and you can read on each description that it makes dependant and i met a lot of people with tinnitus who went dependant. Its just a warning in good will and nothing else. There are also alternative ways to thinner blood which arent making dependant but aren't an easy solution like simple chemical pills.
I'm well aware that he is going to take them for a longer time thats why i raised this topic to him so he wont fall into another issue .

Most anticoagulants are perfectly safe Vrill. Yes, there are potential complications, that's the case with most drugs. And with anticoagulants, the risks are predominantly about excessive bleeding, especially in the brain. But those complications are a mitigated risk and far better than the alternative, which is leaving a serious blood clot untreated.

Plus, people are monitored for those complications - they have their blood tested regularly to make sure the clotting process is within safe/normal parameters.

Your intentions may well have been good (and I do believe you when you say they were), but if someone took your warning/advice seriously and stopped taking anticoagulants, they could potentially die.

You know you write a lot of nonsense.Alternative doesnt mean leaving a serious blood clot untreated. You are just an ignorant beliving there is only a single solution for treating an issue.
A good exampe is cancer where people stopped going to chemical thearpy and taking alternatives like broccli powder which has a way better effect than chemo thearapy cause its killing only the stem Cells of cancer which a chemical theorapy isnt able to do since its killing both good and bad cells.
but if someone took your warning/advice seriously and stopped taking anticoagulants, they could potentially die
No he would cure himself with an alternativ way.Natural Blood thinner exist for centuries. The only issue is that these arrent offered by doctors cause they are avaibable everywhere for peanuts.

An alternativ would be as example made by a Prof Dr the medecine "Thromboflow" which is being taken from organic tomatos and which has been proofed scientificly to work without any side effects.

Also Stover most important should be to change your eating habits. The cluster are coming from unhealthy products

Is that right?

Broccoli is more effective at curing cancer than chemotherapy?

More quack science hocus pocus.

From his own website:

Blood thinners prescribed by a doctor should not be replaced by Thromboflow

So even he knows it doesn't work. He advises people to keep taking their real medication

And:

has been confirmed in 8 randomised, placebo-controlled, doubleblind studies in humans, which did not examine side effects, allergic reactions or incompatibilities with other medicinal products

So he is peddling some miracle cure which he has not tested for contraindications with other medicines.

So he is advising people to only take his quack medicine in combination with their prescribed medication - but he does not even know if it is dangerous when taken with that prescribed medicine.

Not only is it quack science, but it is downright dangerous quack science!

Thanks for the reminder JST ,I have been suffering a similiar problem, experincing throbbing like heart beat below my chest and close to abdomen, people say it may be aortic aneurysm( i hope its not),all these happened after i am continously sitting on PC and bending my back to the point of abdomen where these bulging beat is happening .

You know its my last reply here i i dont want to destroy stovers thread but your posting is total nonsense

More quack science hocus pocus.
I guess thats why many doctors in western europe are already using it ?I guess europeans doctors are in reality magicians.
From his own website:

What do you expect to have on his website ?To through away the chemicall staff so he would loose his license to sell ?I guess you dont know reality how fast you get attacked once you officaly work against a cartell.Just look what insane thinks Pfizer is doing just to destroy all the cheap working alternatives

So even he knows it doesn't work.
I recommend learning to read.He is even posting studies for proof even showing it can't be a placebo

Not only is it quack science, but it is downright dangerous quack science!

You know if you are unable to read properly i would recommend to shut up as you truthful act like a sheep
