What do you think about the new hype "Prompt engineering" that just get invented recently?

My point of view:

Yes, that's a good skill to know how to get the most out of these AI tools.

But there's no need to invent new fancy words "Prompt Engineer".

It didn't get invented now. It just got popular. It seems like a shitty new "career" with a very low barrier to entry everyone's gonna wanna be a part of and will get saturated in 2 seconds, because it's easy as fuck, to be honest.
 
People always like to give them selfs fancy titles/ sounds better when you are trying to sell a product or service

ChatGPT and AI in general it's reel and nobody can doubt the utility, "Prompt engineer" it's a hype.

It's a good topic for Youtubers, gurus and course sellers...some people started advertising it a career :)

Imagine someone asking, What's your job?

Person B answer: Oh, yeah I'm a prompt engineer :)

it could be their marketing strategy, as it seems to be attracting visitors for the time being.
 
Coming up with fancy names is marketing.
A few years ago affiliate managers became business developers and PPC guys became user acquisition specialists.

Prompt engineering as a concept is going to be very useful over the next few years. But it's not like it's hard or needs a 4 year degree course. Anyone can do it.
 
A new degree course in Prompt Engineering will be introduced in most universities in the coming year.
 
saw it in some post and people really happy that now they can code, but no test so far but for what I being reading so far it seams to be really good.

Learning how to ask ChatGPT or any AI to get the most out of it is a good skill. The term "Prompt engineer" can be good for YouTube videos or selling a ChatGPT course.

But at the end it's learning how to ask an AI like ChatGPT.

Currently it can helps those who already code and know how to debug, modify, reuse... the generated code.
 
Yeah it is going to be useful, since this is exactly what is gonna help AI overtake jobs.
 
It's janitors calling themselves "sanitation engineers". People are slaves to buzzwords.
 
funny thing is that these "prompt engineers" dont come up with really advanced prompts.
all i've seen sofar in public is nothing special. my friends and me came up with much better prompts that actually work to create amazing content that is different to the usual bs.
"you are a seo specialist, you have a desire to write about X" lol all these prompts are amateur prompts. yet in their youtube videos they make it look like its so amazing.
glad that real prompts are not shared (yet) as it gives us an advantage over 99% of the rest. not trying to show off or anything, but seriously ..one day the real advanced prompts will also be public as someone will need attention and publish them, then you'll see what i mean...

At least show one example of it.
 
The better prompts I learn, the smoother and faster my content development becomes. There will most definitely be a need for prompt engineers. Best thing is, all this information is mostly shared on youtube.
