So I asked ChatGPT about the people, culture practices and migration of people in a specific location and specific country. To my surprise, ChatGPT pulled the results from Google and reference it.

Does it mean that ChatGPT is currently updated to the version of the Internet every second?

I don't think ChatGPT stores up-to-date information. It uses some technology to grab real-time data from the internet or trusted sources when needed, providing users with the most current information available.

Yes it can fetch some data from the web with the URLs you provide or provide specific keywords. its possible with latest models

I thought chatGPT used data from Bing search. I guess that has changed.

ChatGPT doesn't update every second - its base is frozen, but the web tool does a good job of simulating your query. You see it demonstrating this capability, which is why it feels like Google. It's great for keyword trends or market research for your dropshipping or FB Marketplace work - just don't expect real-time stock prices.
 
yes i think chat gpt can fetch data from any website like google...
 
If I'm not mistaken, the chat uses data from all available search engines, but definitely not in real time, its version is updated to a certain date, so if you ask in real time, you better double-check the info

This makes sense. Otherwise I would imagine the overkill computational resources that would be involved if it were to update every second. Thats debt.

I see. Can’t wait to see a live updated version of it. I am sure this is possible if they connect it with the search engines API in some way.

Yes, exactly! That's how it works for real-time data. Some data are predefined and built into the database, such as Excel formulas, program scripts, etc. Real-time data, like current news, trends, and politics, is pulled from search engines or other trusted sources when needed.
 
It's getting better and better, but to unlock its full potential, you'll need to use OpenAI
 
ChatGPT cannot directly fetch data from Google in the sense of accessing Google's search engine or databases in real-time without intermediaries.
