We just got access to chatgpt ads and submitted our first campaign.

The setup was pretty simple so far. Add the site, let the system pull some basic ad details, then edit everything before launch. Too early to say anything about quality or results yet, but it’s definitely interesting to test a new traffic source while it’s still fresh.

Curious if anyone else here already tried it.

Been keeping an eye on this one but haven't jumped in yet. How's the targeting look? Thats the part im most curious about... whether you can actually narrow down or if its still broad as hell right now.

Also whats the min spend to get going? Would test it just to see how the traffic converts before it gets flooded and prices go up.

The setup is pretty simple so far. You get 50 characters for the headline and 100 characters for the description, then you give the system some context so ai can understand when and where to show the ad. You can also choose the country where you want the ad to be shown, so there is at least basic geo targeting. For budget, the minimum I saw was $25 per day.
Targeting does not feel super advanced yet, at least from what I have seen. It is more about giving good context and making the offer clear. I am still testing, so it is too early to say how well the traffic converts, but it is interesting to try before it gets too crowded.

It is slowly starting to get more impressions now. My guess is that it works similar to other ad platforms. At the beginning it needs some time to learn the audience, test placements, and understand which context fits the ad better. After that, it should probably start spending and showing more normally.

25$ per day? That's a lot! Are you recuperating the costs?

It does not actually spend $25 every day. That is just the minimum daily budget you have to set. Inside the campaign, you can set something like $2 per 1,000 impressions and see how often the ad is shown. If the traffic is too low, you can increase the bid a little, so in practice it does not use the full $25 per day.

I haven't set up conversion tracking for ChatGPT yet, but I’ve already spoken in the tech support chat with a client who came from it.

nah, Thank you for sharing. I think ChatGPT ads will fit better for tech, AI, SaaS, and digital services rather than physical products

I think you need to test across the board, since people aren't just looking for online services when it comes to AI these days.
 
curious to see how the conversion rate turns out. traffic from ai chats might be more informational than buyer intent. let us know what the cpc looks like once data rolls in.
