That's American innovation for you. If you can't innovate/compete, just buy them.
 
it started as a non-profit organisation , now they're charging to use their api .. tomorrow they will force payment to get access to the chat and other services .
 
It's gonna be paid for sure,
But how much is the question in here,
There's always a ROI to be made with it for sure and for SEO it's a big gem nowadays, no doubt

microsoft is alraedy the biggest investor in open ai.
and also chat gpt is free only as beta testing. they never said it's free forever

The pricing is per 1K tokens, so a 470-token article on Davinci costs you less than a Cent: $0,0094.
 
It's a pity that we are not seeing Bing being a solid competitor to Google, instead Microsoft is going through another route.
