Changed the Site Title - Serps going bum bum

Hi guys, I really need an advice !

After a week ranking in serps on page 1, yesterday I've decided to change my site's title to be more "customer friendly" but I've used the same keywords that were used in the initial title that I was ranking for.

Also I've modified a little bit the description but I've used the same keywords, added a few and changed the order very lightly.

Now, I've checked my rankings and my rankings in serps are pretty much gone.

What should I do ? Change back my title and description as initial ones or leave it like this and hope that I will get back in the same spots in Serps ?

if it is the same keyword plus another one for more customer friendly environment then it's probably a google dance and you will be back in no time

Thanks for all the replies ! It's a real mess right now with my SERP's... From the title I've removed 2 keywords that weren't too important for me. I wanted to compress it to fewer words and characters for it to look right and relevant to the customers.

In the description I've added a few words and changed a bit the order in which they were written.

This are my SERP's from last night and below the SERP's from today - the keyword that I was ranking in 2 (MS shows 3) spot is nowhere now (it's the main keyword - didn't changed it's position in the title).



And this is today...



The sorting order is changed in the latest image to include all the keywords in the screenshot.

And I think there is another problem also... being a new site, yesterday Google indexed 140 pages from it - today there are 906 pages indexed, most of them with the new title and description - What is your opinion on this matter ? Should it be a problem ranking back as I was even if I change the title and description back the way they were ?

Just noticed that the indexed pages in Google dropped from 906 to 764 - that after a fast indexing because yesterday I had 124 indexed and this morning 906.

Do you have any idea what this could mean ? Could it be related to my changes in Title and meta-description ?

Edit: Just discovered another very odd thing - I just looked into my Analytics account and discovered that the report for yesterday shows very odd data - it shows me that yesterday I had 15 visitors when I know that I had ~140. How is it possible for a report to get changed ? I know I had about 140 visitors yesterday because I've checked Analytics before going to sleep.

I have seen issues with the Analytic myself. I've noticed that sometimes the number of visitors is really off. It has to be a bug or something. I also realized the number of visitors were off due to the number of emails and calls I would received that day so the numbers did not add up. Look don't worry I believe it's a google dance give it a few weeks and see what happens, also during google dance I have heard, to always continue building quality links, it helps alot with it returning back.

Thanks Marcus for your positive words ! I really hope so... for me it was a shock because it didn't dance like this for several days - sometimes it went a position or 2 up and down but no more than that.

I was thinking... had a problem with a vendor here 2 days ago. Could it be a revenge also ? Could I have been reported to search engines for buying links ?
I am thinking about this because it also started deindexing in google.

I once changed the title of my site and had a fall in the SERP's. I quickly changed it back to the old title and it went back to the old position. I guess you have a back up that way, if the new title doesn't work out. I am not sure if reverting to an old title can be applied as a safe recovery method for all sites though.

By me its a rule , dont change anything that is working

How was the fall ? In the top 100 or below that ?

Just did the same because I remark that I could target both of my keywords in the title. I had a huge SERP drop. All my targetted keywords were under 100 for 2 days.

It just came back to normal and now :
KW 1 : #5
KW 2 : #10
KW 3 : #10

Wait a bit and it should be soon good.

If your site takes a big jump from changing the title, then you probably don't have many quality links to your site and Google doesn't trust it. On page SEO has really little value when you're targeting keywords that are even somewhat competitive.
