Change in Featured Snippets, Multiple Sites Same Feature

I've just recently pushed an article up to the first page, and gxxgle's giving it some featured snippet love in the box at the top of the results.

What's alarming to me, is that the image chosen for that featured snippet isn't from my article, but from a random article that also appears on the first page. So, for those that click the title, they go to my site. For those that click the image, they go to the other site.

I've seen quite a difference in CTR with featured snippets, but imagine this would lessen their effect.

Anyone else notice this going on?

It's an old one.
Google does the same even the other way around - for one of my images, exctracting the text from another website. But I also have several text snippets with imagrs frim other contexts.

Yup this happens, put an image close to the text Google is using in the snippet and make sure it has a relevant alt text.

Google should use your pic after that.
