Hi, i have another journey here and while writing the last update i thought about opening another one.

A little bit about me:

I was a really really athletic type of guy, even if i started smoking tobacco i used to play soccer A LOT.

I started smoking tobacco at 11 years old, yeah a fucking “teenage rebellion” but now 9 years later i really regret that, because now i smoke like a fucking chimney dammit, i almost do anything (expect masturbating) while smoking.

I have already stopped smoking once, and during this time i returned to pratice MMA, i mean, i was really into it, i have started it 2-3 years ago, i stopped and here i am again.

I didn’t went to school much ahahaha And if i didn’t have clients (you know the dealer life) In the morning i went straight to the gym.

I was like the Diaz brothers, smoke weed and fight hard. I also won a silver medal in a national (amareur) tournament, lost the final because my FOOT WAS A FOOKIN BALOON.

That’s another story.

Fast forward, i’m 20 years old, 1.73-1.75cm in height and i weigh at 76 kg, 76 Kg of FAT ahaha

And want to get back to 66-65 kg, just like my weight when i was a fighter, while stop smoking tobacco (i nearly never smoke weed now).

My ultimate goal is to become a MMA fighter again, train like a maniac and get that fucking Gold medal.

I want to workout when i wake up, i have decided that 7AM is perfect. I’m going to workout following the old warm-up circuits we had in the gym. Will post the details tomorrow.

The first step is to actually wake up at 7AM ahahaahahaah

And that’s it. Have a great day!

Gonna follow this one as I’d one day hope to stop as well.

Started playing competitive soccer since last year again though. Step in the right direction.

Wish you luck in getting there

Thank you!

Yeah smoking is really really bad and every single smoker knows that. The problems is that smoking becomes a fucking HABIT and i thought that in order to properly stop, i should replace it with something healthier.

It worked the first time so why it shouldn’t work the second time?

Goodluck mate, i hope you will succeed.

i was also playing soccer from very young age, but stopped because gaming got too much influence on me... what is funny is that i cannot get addicted to smoking, i tried to smoke for months but was still able to stop at any time.

wish you all the best man, will be checking here regularly

I quit smoking 16 years ago... It's the "get back in shape" that I'm challenged by.

I'll start slow and low - walk around my block a few times... then maybe scale up to jogging

For sure, and openly talking about it as a goal can give you that extra bit of motivation getting over the first few week line.

Yeah, i also think that saying it publicly will help.

Soccer was more like a hobbie for me, i remember going to play soccer with my friends at the chapel’s field after MMA ahahaha

Anyway i don’t think you’re human, i think that something is wrong ahahaahah because why TF you don’t become addicted to tobacco?

Damn, one day i will say it one day too bro. 16 years is nearly like my whole life -4 years. CONGRATULATIONS! How did you do it?

Anyway, you just made me think about it, the last time i worked out was a year ago aahahah so i should probably start “slow” as well, or this journey it’s going to turn into “Recovery from injuries - Challenge” ahahahahaha

That's great to hear,
I just stopped smoking a week ago.
I'm not even going near to my drawer because there are empty cig packets in it and tbh I don't even want to look at, for the first time in 12 years I've no urge to smoke, it feels really great.

Ive tried quitting 3 years ago and failed, I'm not alcoholic,
I did smoke weed for a while but stopped it as well, but smoking cigs pulls you in, it's really hard to give up on it.
I'm now exercising and going on a walk, quite proud of myself that I'm finally not smoking.
GL op, I hope you achieve your goals.
I wish everyone a healthy life

CONGRATULATIONS BRO! Keep it up like this we will stop smoking for sure!!!

ACTUAL UPDATE!

I didn’t wake up at 7AM, yeah, shame on me aahahaha i woke up at 8, washed my face with cold water and i started immediately to exercise:

I started with a pre-warm up for my joints, like ankles, hips, shoulders, knees etc etc.

Basically i made them do a circular movement for some seconds each.

After this i started the workout for real, with 2 mins of this exercise where you jump and widen your legs while you simoultaneously narrow your arms like in an applause over you head. Yeah, i don’t remember the name of this one ahaahaah

After this i continued to run in place, while doing warm up for the hands, like simulating combos, rotating the shoulder and flying like a bird (goddamn i don’t know these names ahahaa)

No break, after, i did those knee up run, i didn’t actually run cause i was still in one place but you got it i know. 1 minute. Then no break, 1 minute of run while you kick your feet backwards till you touch your ass, yeah again i don’t know the name of this in english ahahahah in italian is like “kicked run” ahahaha

No break, finished these i did 5 burpees and i swear to go i thought i was going to die after this. I swear. Anyway, as a 2 min break, i did some heavy shadow boxing, like i was really fighting with someone, thworing combos, sprawling etc.....needless to say i hardly kept my hands up but still i fought.

After i did 8 normal push up, break of 1 min, 6 wide push up, collapsed. I decided that for the push it was enough for today. 1 min break.

25 crunchs. No break. 50 of these exercise for lateral abs where you’re in the position of sit up but instead of going up with your body you go sideways and try to touch or grab your heel while keeping your head up. No break.

I think they call it “library sit-up”? Ahahahah it’s like when you keep your legs straight up at 90 degrees while keeping your back on the ground, then liftin your body up while triyng to touch with your hands the tip of your shoes, yeah crazy shit aaahahaah 25 of those. No break.

Did 100 scissor kicks. No break. Isometry for abs, not plank position, but with my butt on the groun i lifted up my feet, straghten my legs and i stayed like this for 40 seconds. I couldn’t keep it up much longer. I DIED.

I drinked like half a liter of water. I was going to fucking pass out. But i did some last light shadow boxing. After i recovered a bit i did some streching that i didn’t count towards my workout time.

I want to say that this is a light, fast-paced circuit. It’s a lighter version of the actual kind of circuit that we used to do at my gym, cause i fucking smoke like a barbecue and it’s been like a year since my last workout. This workout is not for becoming bigger or building muscles, i just want to improve my cardio while losing body fat.

I worked out for 24 MINUTES. While i’m writing this update i’m still recovering, my heart is pounding in my fucking ear, i think i’m going to have a heart attack, but guess what, i fucking love it.

I think i’m going to do a cold shower now.

I still didn’t smoke a cigarette and for me this is already a BIG BIG ACHIEVEMENT, cause the fiest thing i do in the morning is smoking.

Have a great day!!!

Brilliant mate. Great journey and sounds like a great routine there. Just keep it up every morning - especially the morning ms where you really don’t feel like it.

Before you know it you’ll be back in great shape.

Thanks for the support brotha i see you too!

I don't smoke home because my parents don't know that (or yeah they know but they don't say nothing about it). Due the lockdown i didn't smoke for 1 month and i tried to smoke one on last Wednesday: disgusting! I didn't finish my cig and i want to belive that this is the end.

However i used to smoke a 20 cigs/ weekly so not big deal.

I wish i could be just like you bro. My parents found out my smoking habits when i was 14, and it went all downhill from there...i smoked weed in my house, in front of my parents, made the drug packets on the bathroom floor without even closing it because there was no key...it was fucked up bro. I was a "rebel" stupid boy, and i wish i could've just stop smoking because my parents would see me. Unfortunately, it didn't go this way so here i am.

Anyway i'm smoking the first cig just now, i don't smoke the normal cigarettes, i roll them. I take the 30g pack and i usually finish it in 3 days. It's gonna be a loooooong journey. Just weighted myself also still 76 kg.

But, i can clearly feel the difference now that i've worked out and i had a cold shower, i feel AMAZING! GODDAMN MAN I FEEL AMAZING!

I can't believe how the taste of things improved! The flavor of the dishes is different, tastier! My dad is a chronic smoker and when I stand next to him the smell of smoke is trash!
The best thing is to not think about "I need to smoke". It's hard especially in the first 3 days where body has 0 nicotine

My father too was a heavy smoker, but when i was born he was in germany and he just stopped. I clearly remember how much good tasted good when i stopped smoking for a while aahahaah

But taste is still great for me now, because i can’t really tell the difference from so much years before. I just don’t want to die basically.

Similar story mate, im smoking like from 14 years, and now I'm 29, 2 years ago started to do boxing quit smoking, but like 6 months ago started again, and now training is going very hard, my cardio went back to shit :D and trying to quit smoke again, but the thing is all gyms are closed now, and it is hard to motivate my self to train at home;/ :D

Nice. Good luck with your journey, mate. Many people quit smoking by replacing cigarettes with sweets (candy), but I guess it's not the best method, maybe ok if used temporarily.

Ice is pretty good to take
Excuse me, what "Ice" are you talking about exactly? Aahahah Just joking, anyway yeah i know that "ice therapy" is pretty good for your muscle and stuff, but, i don't have a bathhub and i don't have that much ice ahaha I just prefer to do a super col shower

Yeah and that's the main issue. You could keep training and be phisically fit, but your cardio is just getting worse and worse. You know what motivated me? My juicy fat belly ahahahah And the thread of @davids355 maybe try to think about something (other than cardio) that you had while not smoking.

Yeah, i heard about a lot of people that stopped like that too, but, honestly, if you think about it is just the same thing: replacing tobacco with something. Some people replace it with just their fucking will, some people don't replace it because they never stop and some people replace it with something else.

QUICK UPDATE

So, i finished the paper to roll my tobacco. So i wanted to go the tabacchi store and buy some paper, but, before going out my dad told me "You know that today is a holiday and nothing is open right?" I said "No, but i'll find a way". The store near my house was...closed. So i decided to go to another store where they have an automatic machine for cigarettes. It's like 2km away and i decided to run, cause you know i mean fuck it, back and forth. And that's it, i jogged 4 km today.
