Right. It's not like they're the US Government who can just waltz to a house a continent away in New Zealand and arrest you without any cease and desist.
As for your client's info, even if you didn't have any, they shouldn't have the right to get it from you depending on where your jurisdiction is. If it turns into a civil suit, then that's a different story.

As far as responding to FB, don't send them anything!!!! As in, do not send them one piece or bit of information. Don't even answer them. Remember, you are not legally bound to respond to them on any shape, form or fashion. Have we not learned this lesson taught by Mr. James Duane, a professor at Regent Law School? The lesson is, don't ever talk to the police under any circumstances and to further that statement, do not talk to people who may sue you... under ay circumstances!!!!

Thinking out of the box.. if you are able to access your website (maybe go to an internet cafe or buy a wifi dongle or go to Starbucks or some local coffee shop that has free wifi) use some available proxy in your browser set up one of those 'Hacked by HiTLeR' kinda pages and stay quiet.
Worst case.. you can tell them the site got hacked and you lost access to the email account (provided they wrote to on the same [email protected]).
Point is.. replying to them would only put you high on their radar.
P.S: You're in Holland.. if shit hits the fan.. go to Basel or Geneva until things cool down.

People are here saying that FB can't demand this and they can't demand that... They HAVE demanded it - but the real question is "is the demand resonable and actionable"?
The way to find out is to give them the 80% solution of what they wanted (what I mentioned above) and then see if they write back and continue to demand the rest. Chances are they just want the potential of future damage to stop, especially if you've have zero or near zero clients.

just because they demand something doesn't mean you have to comply. If a van pulled up to your son and demanded he get in I hope he would not comply.
WTF? I'm have been reading many thread about this issue and I just ignore because I don't want to start a debate but I just can't resist this one. As much I don't like people spamming and degrading social networks with crap, I don't think the social networks should start threatening internet marketers.
Who is FB and who do they think they are to intimidate ppl? I don't care, what I want to do I'll do and no one will stop me. I'm an IM and I can sell my service to anyone that needs it, if they don't like what I do, that's there own problem. If we don't fight this FB s*it, they will continue to intimidate ppl and start requesting what is not theirs, they should invest their time into other things and accept that no matter how they try, they just can't win. All they want to do is to make you afraid, if many people start challenging them, they will have no choice but to find a more reasonable way to solve their imaginary problems.

Let me clear up some confusion:
Theres been a lot of threads about FB C&D letters/emails in the last few days. I've personally had one from them before and it's pretty straight-forward on what steps you need to take:
1) Ignore them and move your shit to off-shore with false details and continue your hustle.
2) Reply to them saying you'll agree not to break their TOS and stuff again. They'll send an email back with an agreement you will have to sign and scan then email it back to them. Case closed.
3) Stop worrying. FB realistically won't do shit for these small time offences. Heck they don't do much for big time offences so chill out lol

Just cease what you are doing and you will be fine. A cease and desist letter is giving you an opportunity to stop.
Facebook would rather you cease then taking you to court b/c most likely it will cost them more money to take you to court...

So, I have removed all references to FB off of my website. Now I am not sure weather I should reply to the e-mail or not. I have until COB today according to them.
And what should I reply to them if I decide to? Anyone has experience in formulating such emails?

Let me clear up some confusion:
I couldn't agree more here. these are the choices you are facing. I would certainly stop what you are doing where you doing it and cover your steps. the whole point of a C&D is exactly what it implies, Cease and Desist - they dont want you in court, they dont really want the $ you dont have. they just want you to stop what you doing. they are hired by FB to make you stop what you doing and look like they are doing their job. you stop, they look good and FB pays them more to do the same. all IMO, of course!

I didn't read every single reply to this thread but, make sure it's not a cloaked email address..
There's ways to hide a [email protected] as blahblah@facebook and make it look legit.
