Hello BHW,

I learn a lot from this community, and now i want to ask this as i am searching google but still not satisfied with what i read on any article. So I am doing Amazon Affiliate Site, and i am thinking to improve my page load time by using CDN Amazon CloudFront and serve images / static wordpress files by using cdn.mydomain.com.

All settings is done on cloudfront and wordpress. But when i read some of post comment that Google Robots maybe thinking my site as Duplicate Content because there is two files on the server :

hosting server
mydomain.com/wp-content/uploads/11011008/image.jpg

and

cloudfront
cdn.mydomain.com/wp-content/uploads/11011008/image.jpg

and same with JS/CSS static files

I already apply link rel="canonical" to my post links, but i don't know how to rel="canonical" on my images.

Want to ask this into community, maybe some of you guys already using CDN before

- Do you guys using CDN for Amazon Affiliate Site that using lot of images?
- What is best practice to avoid Duplicate Content?
- Is it okay to replace all of my Images link that already indexed in Google with new CDN link?
- How does it affect ranking?

I don't want to hurt my ranking, or maybe i miss something that already shared on this forum before.

I do using sitestripe for linking, but i also add some of media as i get from depositphotos to improve my landing page. Answer and comments will greatly appreciated

bumping..
anyone?

Switching to CDN wont affect your ranking, Google's AI is not lame to penalize you for switching to CDN

- What is best practice to avoid Duplicate Content?
To write Original Content :) Im Serious.

- Is it okay to replace all of my Images link that already indexed in Google with new CDN link?
Perfectly okay, but do the migration after a thorough testing ensure no broken images are there after migration.

- How does it affect ranking?
I suppose CDN on images are not a direct ranking factor. This however benefits on user experience so it will have its indirect share in ranking factor.

sitestripe has nothing to do with SEO, its a form of linking. Just make sure you are not having many affiliate links all around your page content. (1 or 2 or maxx. 3) thats all.

Rel canonical is not supported for images also it does not make any sense. A single image is like a word, it can be used on any page its not taken in the sense of an article :)

Thanks for suggestion and explanation, yesterday i replace all of my images links on my site, now i just monitoring what will affect my old indexed images on images.google.com

They're duplicate images not duplicate content.

yes, i am just afraid when check site:mydomain.com on google images, old indexed images disappear and affect my ranking.

google have new rules to read image as facebook doing so its more tough to handle
