Case STUDY - Video SEO - Ranking A Video

Remember to keep your titles, descriptions and tags super keyword friendly on the video. I find the quicker a video gets views/likes, the higher it appears as well, so that might be a factor.

- Going to create more Bookmarks (500)
- Blast them with SB with a 20k AA list
- yesterday I accumulated 1125 Vagex credits on my vps, sending them to video.

Thanks for your suggestions regarding on page seo guys, But I've pretty much done all of that very carefully while uploading my video:)
 
Nice thread but i think your wasting your time for views. Views don't really matter for ranking videos on google. You need backlinks not views.

Yesterday night my video was dancing between rank #9-#11 and This morning My video is ranked #6

I was checking Google rankings for my main keyword and looks like my Site has Jumped to #14 from #16:)

Coincidence? Or Result of my Video SEO test?

Looks like my video is on rank 2 on youtube for my 2 word keyword:D

Though it won't get many searches as its not an entertainment niche keyword, but still I'm pretty happy about this.

Just need to get to no #1 and hopefully my video will get on Google search for a 40k exact search term.

I am doing something similar, although no bookmarks so far.
 
Bookmarks have good backlinkin power, I think its a must. Also try WEB 2 or profiles if you use some linkbuilding tool. and blast them with SB.

UPDATE My Video is already on #1 on youtube.

Although its not on google search. Video on rank #2 in youtube still showing on Google Search.

Now I'm gonna Try and Replicate The Whole Thing For another Keyword.

So what do you think were the most important aspects of getting your video ranked?

Backlinks? Views? Something else?
 
no update?

i have directly SB blasted 10K AA (successfully). it's been 24 hours. my video is still not in top 20 pages..
 
24h is not enough. It takes time for Google to index links, even if you've pinged them results tend to take more than 24h to appear. Its not a rule, just a tendency (or it is for me). Patience.

10 days ago I made a short slideshow video for a popular weight loss product. I made sure to do all the proper on page seo and then sent 3000 bookmarks, 1200 article directory links, some web 2.0's (maybe 30) and some wikis to the video. Today I am ranked 4th for a 12,000 exact search keyword term and ranked well for some other longtail keywords. Videos are much easier to rank than a website these days I think. I have not made any sales yet but I am getting the views and some clicks to the sales page so its only a matter of time. Oh and I got 5000 views to the video as well. I dont think the views help you rank in Google but it helps to rank it youtube.

ranked 4th for a 12,000 exact search keyword - you mean google search? or youtube?
so you are saying that you put all the efforts into the video and you get ranks on google?

if you believe views can help youtube rank, why not try vegex? by instinct though i would say like/view ratio rather the view count alone..

Yes I am saying that if you want to rank a video it is usually easier than ranking a website. Also social bookmarks seem to be very powerful when it comes to ranking a video in google serps. Also the term has 12000 exact searches in google not youtube. Just make sure you check competition of other video on the page. If a video has no backlinks to it you an easily beat it. Also if it has few views it is easy to beat. I did not get any likes to my video but I am sure they would help

Nice case study. Btw, you can also use youlikehits for youtube views. They offer 100 Free credit everyday. You can easily earn around 500+ credits by clicking some twitter tweets out there. It's time saver.
