[Case Study] Is BuySellAds still worth it? 2020

Oh, BuySellAds ... didn't know they are still (a)live! :D I tested them YEARS ago and I remember creating a ton of banners and getting approved some questionable creatives :D

You can still fight the banner blindness by creating banners that fit certain pages, it's just time-consuming while waiting to get approved, change things and repeat the process.

your getting a $1.50 for US Traffic? that is amazing tbh now i recommend rotating banners and choosing the banner with the highest CTR so you get more clicksl The most important thing is the offer, if your offer is good it will convert but if your offer is shit no matter how many clicks to it, it won't convert and you'll lose money

I was purely doing this as a case study but damn man. If I would promote a network like that in a dying section of IM already I would surely made sure it works!

U did a huge favore for people so they won't go and waste their time but at the same time u got me thinking how i can get my website there to sell traffic to people.

I wanted to get a couple of banners through them, but it seems to me that this is not worth doing

That's not that hard. If you can prove that you got descent organic traffic, you can register and add your site, they will provide the proper codes.

I’m not sure what site you’re advertising with and what are the conditions, but depending on their setup you may not always see your ad.

If the site set your ad through the ad server (which I am sure is the case) they could set it in a dozen different ways. For example they could run it as a house ad which will only show where no paid ads available, or they could show it only at a certain rate, so when other advertiser win the bid it won’t show up, or they could even set it to show between 2am - 6am (I doubt, but you never know). If that’s one of the scenarios above - it would be hard to see your own ad. If you agreed on the specific placement (permanent) then something weird is going on.

Platforms like TTD would require 100x budget than mentioned on the thread, but you’ll get way better performance vs BSA. It offers more sophisticated setup and targeting (using DMP data, e.g. targeting by IP or other details boosts conversion rates X times) but it’s way more expensive.

In most occasions you're probably right but not in this case. BSA took a look at it and they don't see the ad either. I bough a specific spot and it's only rotating google ads on every refresh. No point of scaling yet. I have a tracker on it and I'm analyzing everything, from country, city, device, time, OS etc etc but for that it first need actually show up :D

If the tracker shows 0 then that’s probably the case - the ad is not there. Find out how they did the setup for it, or at least how you can see it, after it goes live.
 
Didn't see this was made into a sticky but @Apricot or @Diamond Damien you can unstick this and close it.

I checked my account today and without any warning my campaign shows now inactive. So I can't say how BSA performs but when it comes to professionalism, stay far away from them, I've requested a refund.

No matter, I'm also starting up CPA and mediabuy Case Study which is probably more interesting for the majority on BHW anyway. You can stick that thread when it comes out if you want.

Yeah man, I don't have time for their incompetence. Their platform is already dying, at least make sure it works flawlessly. Will put the money in CPA which is currently my main focus anyway.

The platform is long dead for new people... Maybe some people is making money who have list of good performing sites.
