[Case Study] Google +1 on SERP

In order to test Google +1 influence on SERP I'm building a small case study.

These sites are each a week old started at 0 PR.They were all non-indexed at the start of this experiment. The only major difference was domain age. To try and balance this site 1 will be the oldest, site 2 the middle and site 3 the youngest domain I have.

Day 1:
Site 1: Added No Google +1's, Submitted to Google, Pinged, Not Indexed
Site 2: Added 30 Google +1's, Submitted to Google, Pinged, Not Indexed
Site 3: Added 50 Google +1's, Submitted to Google, Pinged, Not Indexed

Day 2:
Site 1: Added No Google +1's, Pinged, Not Indexed
Site 2: Added 10 Google +1's, Pinged, Indexed Not in Top 10 pages
Site 3: Added 25 Google +1's, Pinged, Indexed Not in Top 10 pages

Day 3 - To do
Site 1: Added No Google +1's, Pinged, Not Indexed
Site 2: Added 10 Google +1's, Pinged, Indexed Not in Top 10 pages
Site 3: Added 25 Google +1's, Pinged, Indexed Page 10

Day 4 - To do
Site 1: Will add No Google +1's
Site 2: Will add 10 Google +1's
Site 3: Will add 25 Google +1's


Day 5 - To do
Site 1: Will wait
Site 2: Will wait
Site 3: Will wait

Day 6 - To do
Site 1: Will wait
Site 2: Will wait
Site 3: Will wait

Day 7 - To do
Site 1: Will add one high PR .edu backlink
Site 2: Will add one high PR .edu backlink
Site 3: Will add one high PR .edu backlink

After the first week I will continue this cycle and try and monitor the results, it may not be a broad test range but it's something; it is still unclear at this point if they really do matter. It seems at least that it helps with indexing quicker I will carry this on for a few more days and report back my findings.

Can anyone think of things to add or look at further?

From what I see, +1 does affect SERP...

I'm saying that because I asked people to +1 my site and it is now #4 for my niche

I'm looking forward to this. While I'm under the assumption that +1 doesn't do anything just yet, I have a feeling that it will in the future.

My gut tells me that Google will eventually implement that into the algorithm but in order to prevent "gaming" the system I think that they'll have an influencer score built into that algo to prevent the ability for spammers with low quality accounts to game the system.

So true I don't see it making an honest difference. But when it is factored we will get some where.

So agreed. I think they gonna use the social network G+ profile to evaluate the worth of the +1

I think what we'll see is they will relate it to backlinks. Just like it seems if all you have is strong do follow links and no nofollow links it hurts because it was clear that your purchasing or fixing results - could be a similar scenario

I am sure you are going to see positive results from using google +1s on your websites

I think that you are gonna get a lot of SERPS but i also think that this may take a while.

Do you think your site will go up to Top 10 by 20-30 ..+1s ???

if +1s affect serps this is never gonna happen.

spend that money on backlinks but seriously Im glad somebody is doing this case study!

I'm also doing similar expt. but i'm not risking adsense ID by getting max +1 on those sites. I'm doing that on non-adsense based sites.

what is the pr of your site...how many people did you ask to +1 your spot...how many actually did +1 your site...where was your spot ranked ( pr ) b4 the +1...as well as what position on which page of which se...and now after your friends +1 you...

coming to a source to see what difference this +1 makes...is your spot a regular hand built spot...a template...wp or other type of blog...LMK...

wait, where do you get those +1's for the case study? This is very important. It's like, buying link wheel package from different providers would give different results.
