[Case Study] Google +1 on SERP

Winchester can you tell us a little bit about the competition for the keyword you are going for?

- exact search phrase results
- top 10 in serps (backlinkprofile)

Can't seem to edit main post so here is an update:

In order to test Google +1 influence on SERP I'm building a small case study.

These sites are each a week old started at 0 PR.They were all non-indexed at the start of this experiment. The only major difference was domain age. To try and balance this site 1 will be the oldest, site 2 the middle and site 3 the youngest domain I have.

Day 1:
Site 1: Added No Google +1's, Submitted to Google, Pinged, Not Indexed
Site 2: Added 30 Google +1's, Submitted to Google, Pinged, Not Indexed
Site 3: Added 50 Google +1's, Submitted to Google, Pinged, Not Indexed

Day 2:
Site 1: Added No Google +1's, Pinged, Not Indexed
Site 2: Added 10 Google +1's, Pinged, Indexed Not in Top 10 pages
Site 3: Added 25 Google +1's, Pinged, Indexed Not in Top 10 pages

Day 3
Site 1: Added No Google +1's, Pinged, Not Indexed
Site 2: Added 10 Google +1's, Pinged, Indexed Not in Top 10 pages
Site 3: Added 25 Google +1's, Pinged, Indexed Page 10

Day 4
Site 1: Added No Google +1's, Pinged, Not Indexed
Site 2: Added 10 Google +1's, Pinged, Indexed Not in Top 10 pages
Site 3: Added 25 Google +1's, Pinged, Indexed Page 9

Day 5
Site 1: Added No Google +1's, Pinged, Not Indexed
Site 2: Added 10 Google +1's, Pinged, Indexed Not in Top 10 pages
Site 3: Added 25 Google +1's, Pinged, Indexed Page 9/10 (fluxuated through out the day)

Day 6 - To do
Site 1: Will wait
Site 2: Will wait
Site 3: Will wait

Day 7 - To do
Site 1: Will add one high PR .edu backlink
Site 2: Will add one high PR .edu backlink
Site 3: Will add one high PR .edu backlink

After the first week I will continue this cycle and try and monitor the results, it may not be a broad test range but it's something; it is still unclear at this point if they really do matter. It seems at least that it helps with indexing quicker I will carry this on for a few more days and report back my findings.

Can anyone think of things to add or look at further?

Nice case study :)

Any more background on where the +1's are coming from? I assume its a service you are buying?

Are the accounts legit, do they have a history and or use google products? I think this matters the most when it comes to +1

Great case study, thanks for sharing with us. I also believe that +1 if a factor that affects your rankings

It's not a service, manual and unique IP addresses. I can't find a trust worthy enough service that can make them all from separate IP's yet and I don't want to risk getting sandboxed.

Thanks for doing this I have been very curious about the whole +one thing lately, awesome case study. Subscribed :)

So you're on day five I'm assuming, is it too soon to tell anything yet?

I am curious, are you using the same content on each page?

the reason I ask is because you said the major difference is the number of +1's, I would then think that the site that gets crawled first will start ranking the best because the other's will be seen as dupe content?

The problem with the content being different, would then be determining how much difference the content itself is making. I don't have any better ideas on how to test the impact of +1 though, so I'll keep an eye out here to see what happens.

what happened to this? Was interested in the results :)

epic case study and I would like to add here as we are providing such services and served over thousands of websites so far and we have flood of repeat buyers and buyers reporting that they are really helping them to rank much better in SERP's after getting +1 for their website for particular keywords in SE's.

+1 definitely affecting serps since G is taking every measure to prevent cheating
