QUESTIONS:
1) Do you think it would help my ranking if I did some social media stuff? I have always stayed away from this because it's never relevant to any of my niches. Should I make a Facebook page about my site and link to my site from it? Should I make a Twitter account for my site and link to my site from it?
2) If yes, do I just make a Facebook fan page or something? I've never actually done that before for a site.
You can also put facebook,twitter and google plus buttonson your wordpress blog. Use plugin to do this.
Does number of Tweets matter or do I just create the account and post a single Tweet with the link back to my site and then never touch the site again?
Check out the post by dealsopoly I'll list it below if you haven't seen it. Don't know the guy but he linked all the jobs from here and fiverr he used to rank his sites and some seemed to work good. SEO blitz or something like that from a user here seemed to give a nice boost. I think the other cool one was called LinkAloha, where you can setup some rules to the job to things drop naturally.
Don't take me on my word though, I am pretty clueless with SEO besides what I have read. Jobs were pretty cheap to try out either way.

First I want to thank you turdface for doing this journal as it has been very informative. I have a quick question though recently your updates have been just stat based, have you continued to upload content to you site and ezine articles thus far?
I haven't done any extra work since what I mentioned in previous updates. If I post more articles or do more SEO, I will include it in my update posts.

From time to time I use a tool to ping a bunch of domain info web sites.
One time I setup a web site, pinged a 1000 sites of this and I was listed on Google in a few hours.
I've heard that this helps for SEO and there is nothing to loose.
I would post the link to the tool (is free and web based) but I still can't.
I started following this thread from the beginning and it looks that your makin steady progress. But since your stuck at position 12 you should do something to see if it helps.
Just don't over do it. So far your strategy seems to be safe and avoiding a ban.

For everyone who wants to boast/show off - understand that you're not adding any value to what the op is doing in this thread. He's taken time out of his day (multiple times) to (a) give updates on what he's doing and generally how he's doing it along with (b) answering questions. Understandably, the op won't reveal everything about his business, but the core strategy is there.
If you can get better results, we would love to see you share them in your own thread.
I don't personally do much with adsense at the moment (I'm a lead gen guy) and this thread is interesting to watch.

I ping my site every time I add new content to it.
There's no reason to ping more than once per update, however.

- 5/19 so far: $0.00
- Earnings total: $17.51
Well this site seems pretty stable where it's at now. It has been earning an average of $0.74 cents per day since getting into position 12 18 days ago.
Think a Facebook page would help the ranking any?

Your seo guy still building links eh? Still stuck at 12. Well at least that means its stable and sustainable work. Maybe get some high PR contextual links. Or maybe try to throw up a few guest posts in related sites.
No, he finished the project a while ago.
Yeah, his stuff tends to be pretty stable.
I'm interested in exploring the social media side of SEO. Any ideas?
