Yes, I know the OP used a website using a script to check how many backlinks he HAS (not how many he actually got) and I even backed up the OP to say that many other websites are showing similar downward spirals. I didn't just call the OP a liar with that image, I actually say very clearly it can be a glitch.

The study is completely inconclusive at this time if the OP is unwilling to check how many links he made.

Another thing people should look at from the image:
How many unique domains does he have links from? If he posted to 6.5 million unique domains, why doesn't he have more links from unique domains? Ok, so maybe the OP made a mistake and he didn't post to 6.5 million unique domains. But why doesn't he clarify these things?

Was it Unique URLs or Unique Domains posted to?
Take a guess how many comments were successfully posted?
Did you check any of the lists for live links ever?

Simple questions in my opinion.

If you guys read the whole front page again, you will see everyone is under the impression the OP is going to make 5 million backlinks to his page, because that is what he says he will do. Someone even asks him, how he made a list of 5 million auto approve, and he says his friend from another forum scored it for him. If I never spoke up, this is what we would all be believing here. I just don't see how everyone is so mad at me for trying to clarify what is actually happening here.

The question you asking the OP are valid questions, dont get me wrong kickflip, I think you should let it go and let others decide for themselve.

I know you mean good to this case study, but let it go, if he started the case study but forgot to document it properly that's the OP loss, and maybe next time when he create another study he can document properly in future.

Now, let me post more important information. His site isn't the only one showing this. I checked 2 of my own sites, and also BlackHatWorld, and came to these images which show the same sheer drop offs in backlinks.

Now, the most important question we all have to ask ourselves, is where are all the OPs links? I wasn't actively building links to my websites, so the drop off was to be expected. But the OP was blasting 1million sites per day, so we should see a rise, not a drop off. It has nothing to do with you "stopping blasting" OP. The links drop off before you evens started. But it could just be a generic issue regarding backlinks being counted. This is why its so important to keep track by yourself of how many links you made.

I would like to jump in to defend OP.

Ahrefs has a problem with their graphs. There isnt a spiral down at all. When a massive amount of links have been blasted, ahrefs instead of showing prior data starting from a very low number and increasing shows it at an erronoeus number. I know this to be fact and this is a problem they need to fix. This info is reliable.

What this result shows is a small amount of domains with comments on every page of that domain. Amounting to lots of backlinks. Almost all are do-follow This is good work by the OP.

Impulse perhaps you can email me the list. I would really appreciate it. If not then I understand you are doing god's work. LOL

Impulse did you ping the links or not. This is important for me to know?

I already did make it clear I believe there is an issue with the tool, as all of my sites also show the same downward trend (thats why I showed the pictures), but what you are saying still isn't clear to me. Where can you see any increase in links on there from his blast? I can understand showing an erroneous number starting or ending, but the time when he was blasting shows consistently downward, how is this explained?

You have to remember, the OP already said he has a TON of links directly to that page already. So I don't see how we can assume that he made comments on multiple pages of the same domain. The OP says his site is PR4, so we know he already had at least several high quality d0follow links to get him high pr.

If you can see something I am missing, I appreciate if you can clear it up. But how can you make any assumptions about the work he did, or the quality of his list, without knowing his starting stats?

I pretty much knew what would happen but was curious as to the results. It can tell us a lot about the changes Google makes. I feel like I've time in my life I can't get back because of the arguing on here.

Here is the deal guys. A little more detail is always better. But, the OP did this and allowed us to look in and he's not charging anyone money so how can you really argue. If you don't like the way a case study is done don't pay attention. Move on. It's a black hat forum. Not everyone will be honest and offer up details like a case study you pay for. As far as digging really deep down into the nitty gritty it does have it's benefits. However, generally beyond a certain point you get lost in the stats by going overboard.

The 80/20 rule ALWAYS works. You get 80% of your results from 20% of your work. Digging too deep into will get you so lost in that extra 20% of results that you aren't making your next 80%.

Go with your gut. By putting total step by steps up here we are offering to help noobs get going. That's great to help and that's noble to do so. But, what are we teaching them? How to rip off campaigns. They need to learn the principles of real marketing, take action, test and make mistakes, and they will learn from their experience what works and what doesn't so that when the time comes they aren't total stat geeks and have a gut instinct for what will really work. 90% of the I go off of my gut more than any stats. Stats can be wrong and I have seen them be wrong many times.

My best advice for noobs is no difference than anybody else on here that has actually done something. Focus on one method, take action, then test test test. Think outside the box. It's not easy or else everyone would do this for a living.

It is sad that people don't like false information posted in threads? I just don't understand this type of thinking. I want someone to seriously tell me right now, that they would rather be under the false impression that the OP made 5 million back links to his website, rather than knowing at least some of the "truth" about this. The thread wouldn't have been messed up if the OP was just willing to answer simple questions.

What is the point in spreading wrong information? If the OP just made a mistake in the way he explained everything, he could just say that and try to clear up what he actually did. But his way of insulting me isn't doing him any favors. Read the front page again. Everyone truly believes the OP is making 5 million backlinks. Even the OP believes it!

I couldn't imagine the success rate being particularly high, or the amount of unique domains and pages.

On the other hand, towards the end of his post he did write: "As far getting 5million backlinks, ill do my best to blast more than that amount to account for deleted accounts, etc." I just figured he was getting carried away in the moment.

I have no wrath, and I really don't mind if people are "against" me, I just want to see intelligent discussion. I know not everyone got the impression he would build 5 million backlinks, but I think many people did. I think you are right when you say the op got carried away in the moment, and I gave him lots of opportunities to come forward and try to clarify everything, but instead he ignored lots of my questions and took the personal attack route.

I just dont understand why the OP still hasn't offer to clarify lots of the simple questions asked to him in the thread. It isn't that he doesn't have time, he spent lots of time replying to me about other things, but still doesn't answer simple questions that would make the study relevant.

Anyone who says they can get any usable information from this study with the amount of info we have been given is just not understanding how to interpret what we have been given. Without knowing at the very least, how many links he had when he started, the information is virtually unusable.

This would be a list of useful questions to have answered, and should only take a few minutes:
How many backlinks before you started?
How many links went live from the blast?
How many comments were posted?
How many unique domains were in the list?
Did you ping your pages (asked by someone else, but the answer is no because you didnt do a live link check).

Dont need exact information, an estimate would be fine. But without some of this info, how can we draw any conclusions from the study?

I am not trying to be a jerk here or cause problems. If the OP is legit, then I would think he should be thankful that I am trying to help him make his case study relevant. I just haven't seen anyone tell me how we can use the information the OP has given us. The information is unusable at this point without further information. People are already coming to false conclusions from this test due to the lack of information given. Some people believe all of the backlinks are from this 1 blast.

Usable information from this study? I never really thought about it that way; it just seemed like a funny idea. (Especially if the site had ended up being de-indexed, but that's just my inexperience of such matters that made me think it could be a possibility. Yeah, I read a bit of your own thread where you did a test, Kickflip.)

I don't know the OP and if he has done previous case studies, but just maybe this was his first one and your posts (and others) will help him know which information to provide/capture at the beginning next time? Trial and error, we don't get it all right the first time. (No disrespect intended to the OP.)

What have I personally gained from this study? Putting aside the amusement and instead taking into consideration this (and yours), blasting isn't harmful as some people. In fact, going by some recent threads, paid links are much more harmful (and really easy to find out, Google just needs to pretend to be a customer). Despite an initial change of 52 to 67, the site recovered. (I've noticed that this short term change seems to commonly happen when a lot of links are built up quickly.) I don't know what keyword he was chasing, just that it's medium-hard, according to what? TrafficTravis? OP? Or? Or what the competition was... so I might need to re-read the thread in case I missed that. (Quite easily done on night shift, when I do most of my reading...)

This particular thread has nothing to do with any of that, it is a simple study regarding the result of a large SB blast to an authority site. I am not sure how relevant it is that it may not be 5 million but rather 500,000. As I said, this is a much larger blast than 75% of the forum use, never mind directly to their money sites.

The OP never even said how many actually got posted. So I am not sure how you can say that it is much more than a 75% of the forum use. And as I said before, you can do unlimited, even 100 billion blog comments, Google doesn't care about that at all. The only thing Google can count is live links that their spiders have a chance to crawl. There is no test that needs to be done about this. We know this as a fact. How can blasting comments have any effect on Google?

Well this study turned to s**t didnt it, nothing conclusive whatsover. I was right enjoying the first page too. I have to say I agree with Kickflip, where is the real data here?
