No need for backlinks, they rank by themselves. Might try spammy backlinks later on, but not something I have thought about so far. All articles are 1000+ words.

So I accidentally screwed my medium account I think. I post a test article to see if it will rank and it asked me to pick a domain, which I did without thinking so now my address is username dot medium dot com. I wonder if that means medium won't be a good parasite anymore and what that may mean for your journey. Think twice before you accept a domain, you may be able to just post without it.

I’m not sure if I understood you correctly but you can change this domain name in your settings

I only loosely know about that Medium partner paywall stuff. So is it really that good ? Can you just immediately put the article in a paywall even if it's a new account ?
