[Case Study] 100 Letters Selling Websites - EXECUTED!

I learned a valuable lesson in selling, which is if you can't convince yourself the product is worth that much then how can oyu convince others that it is. While $1,000 is a good price for a website, I can realistically create these in a matter of hours and do not feel the need to charge $1,000. Yes I could sell it for that much but people can get fully custom websites for $2,000-$3,000.

beside all u have done, offer some referral program to the owners. They might not need websites but their friends or someone they know in their same field of businesses might. They intro to u, they get some cut from u.

This is exactly what we do in our brick and mortar business we have a referral program for our client and offer cash or other incentives for any referral that end with a sales. One thing though they have to let their referral know that we gonna be calling them and what's it going to be about that's very important.

Nice thread. I started a Marketing Company to target my local county. I am starting out with Internet Marketing & Reputation Management for the first step in generating some income but definately plan on expanding into web design and hopefully SEO. Good luck, great to see someone take action.

What a really nice idea :) This is a very inspiring thread and hopefully you get a lot of clients in time. I also like the idea of referrals. You may provide your clients incentives if they can refer another client to you :) Good luck!
 
Short question: Did you call all 100 clients? How did they react? In my region they would freak out because they react like getting such calls every day.
 
great idea tristan, one question , when you send the clients the sample , what are you sending, are you basically just sending them the themeforest link to the template demo or are you downloading the screen shot in some way ?
 
Great question.

I setup the mock site on my hosting account and send them a link. Make some minor changes to the theme. Maybe add their logo, I mocked up very quick logos for some which didn't fit well, etc. Maybe 10 mins per
