    Hey BHW!

For a while now, I have been wanting to send out physical letters like many of you have been doing. A few months back, I went out and purchased everything and etc. However, I was quite busy with work so did not finish the job. I now have more time. So, here is what I have done so far:

    - Registered a business
    - Bought domain and built website
    - Found 100 local prospects who DO NOT have a website. Created a two page letter. The first page was a simple sales letter explaining what they are missing out on. The second page included a list of keywords related to their business and how many monthly searches they were receiving. I find that if the prospect sees with his or her eyes the amount of people searching online, they will be more likely to buy.

I am selling Wordpress websites for $499. Takes no more than 3-4 hours to create it since I am just buying a theme from themeforest and customizing it.

Here are the letters, already sent out yesterday! Hoping to get a few calls this week.

    Game Plan:

Next monday I will be calling these businesses and confirming they received the letter. I will talk up the website and try to get them more interested. I am in the process of building mockup websites for the niches I targeted. Which by the way were the following:

    Electricians
    Plumbers
    Millwork
Dentists (One of the 5 dentists in my area without a website turned out to be my dentists so we'll see how that goes!)
    Chiropractors

So I will build 5 mockup websites, should take a day or so.

Questions and comments are welcomed! Wish me luck :).

    Tristan.

Way to take action. Sometimes just diving right in is the best option. You will be sure to learn form each mailing and pick up on what works/what doesn't

Make sure to keep up on the follow up...good luck!

In the mailing process I actually did learn one good lesson ... which should have been known before.

Which is: DO NOT PRE STAMP!

Yes, I stamped 100 envelopes before writing a single thing on them. I then decided to switch up who I was mailing to. Let's just say I got pretty good at peeling stamps off of envelopes and glueing them onto a new one. That took a couple hours.

    Nonetheless, lesson learned!

Best of luck to you! :)
There is still much room for improvement; you'll be learning a lot during this process :)

Good luck, man. I sent out a couple hundred last year from 7878's thread. I got around 10 callbacks and I followed up with the rest and seen some good money from it.

    Hey fistor,
I am a pretty young guy so I have a hard time calling up and asking/talking to people. I feel like they won't take me seriously even though I have ORM experience. How can I be more confident in my phone calls and meetings? Also who do you address the letters to? I tried my state's secretary of state site but I had little luck, same goes for Manta. I tried calling but it doesn't seem like something they just give out to people. Great thread and I am happy to see someone who put in effort be rewarded, hopefully I'm next.

Great way to take action! Hope you get a few clients from this, especially as you can churn them out in 3-4 hours. Just wondering, are you going to be offering them a selection of different templates? Or just making them a website with the themes you like?

You can also bring up the subject every time you go to your dentist if they say no lol

I'm going to show them a nice variety and see which direction they want to go in. Working with ten templates for the mock websites, I am creating one then just using WP-Clone to create more and change up the logo and some content. Almost done the mockup sites.

    Good luck mate.

It's a pretty solid method, tried and tested through the ages.

Fingers crossed that the one callback buys as thats already your entire outlay paid for in abundance. That's the good thing about this method. You only need one client to profit big.

Good luck with this. Got two question:

You say your price is $450. Does that include your work of adding/creating the content or just working on design/template?

How are you planing to host their website, do you have reseller hosting account or buyers need to take care of that?

    Good questions.

    1. I have them either give me a rough outline of the content then I will write it (up to five pages) or they will provide all of the content and I copy and paste. I feel that many will want to write it themselves.

    2. I am currently only using a shared hosting account and do not charge hosting since I will have this account for life and they virtually take up zero resources of my unlimited account. If I get a lot of clients I will however get a VPS and give them access. Although, many of them do not know how to use it and just require a login to wordpress to change content and such.

And you didn't ask but for the domain, I have them purchase it on their credit card and account so I don't need to deal with it. I persuade them into buying it for 5-10 years so they don't forget or put it on auto-renewal.
