Case Studies By Jr Exec and Exec VIPs

Originally I had thought about JrVIPs, the problem with that is how do you choose which JrVIP to run the case study?
I mean no disrespect to my fellow JrVIPs but anybody can become a JrVIP and as with any group we have our fair share of bullshitters, remember Veyron? I am sure that if he was still here he would be the type of person clamouring to run of of these case studies and that money would get spunked up the wall.
I chose JrExec and Exec because they have actually shared in the past and if we had a leader-board or some way of making it competitive then it might tempt them to get involved.
I like your idea too but isn't that already the current situation?

I really like your original idea. To be honest, I wouldn't like to fund it with a subscription increase - economic disparity makes $97 a big deal for some. If there's other ways we can do this, it's a *very* intriguing concept. Only other issue I can see is that it would be a big job defining the process and evaluation criteria, particularly working out how to compare different methods for a leaderboard.

Exemplar case studies aside, how about flipping it and having a couple of newbie projects at the same time? There's nothing to stop us putting up a couple of sites and have a group of newer members (or jr vip's even) voting on what to do with it and volunteering for roles in growing and monetizing them, maybe with execs offering advice and support. There's a small risk that some people might decide to brick it and, again, we'd need to work out the details but could be interesting?
 
Not a bad idea at all, it just needs some refinement imo.

My idea was not to have BHW finance these case studies. I think having contests where everyone can participate freely with their own funds, with the prize of winning exec status, would create much more interesting content vs financing execs with who knows what credentials to do these case studies. There will of course be bullshitters, but the good case studies will naturally float to the top! There are many non exec bhw members that are doing some VERY interesting shit, but need the proper incentive to share ;)
 
Mudbutt's suggestion is pretty decent - rewarding results instead of intent and it doesn't need to be financial like he mentions. Or if people find the content incredibly compelling and useful they could make a donation to the case study creator if they feel like it but no obligations or expectation of money when starting the study. Data & details of successful case studies should be verified in depth to weed out frauds trying to make a quick buck because like W130SN points out the barrier to entry is very low going that route.

It's tough to find a balance in sharing very helpful information without being too vague to protect interests v.s. sinking yourself once your edge gets patched because loose lips sink ships. Ideally it would be a fun side project more as personal challenge on what you can do from scratch which you don't care about sharing the details of.

Yes, I agree with that.. For quite some time seeing what's happening on the site right now, that would help in rejuvenating the forum. Giving it a try wouldn't hurt I guess, keeping the site fresh and updated with post especially the VIP zone and that idea is something that executives and the site is pretty good to consider.
 
What kind of case study do you want?

The reward could be: "X free reviews for the winner to approve new BST"

I can make a case study if you want but i need a spreadsheet of what must i do step by step.
 
I also think MudButt's idea or a variation of it is a better idea. Allow ANY Jr. VIP who wants a shot. Have them sort of apply so you can see if they are serious and maybe narrow it down to 15 or so then let all Jr. VIPs vote on maybe 3 or 5 of those 15 (obviously these numbers are made up I don't know the best number of users) and then have the prize being Jr Exec VIP or a little cash or both. I personally think that would be at least as interesting and those users would probably be more motivated as the majority of the Exec VIPs these days have been Execs for a while and already have their own things going on/are fairly busy.

Another nice idea would be to have a contest in a master and apprentice style. Say a team of Jr VIP and a regular member where the Jr VIP guides the regular member on what to do and how to do it. it would all be documented like a step by step guide. And then in the end when the team of winners is chosen the Jr VIP and the regular member both get a status upgrade and all the glory.

Similar to what Allark said, you can have different tiers happening to have diverse data coming in. Think of it like boxing classes, just within parameters that make sense for this.
 
Excellent. Involving Jr.vips with the price being promotion to jr.exec.VIP or even cash can motivate existing Jr.VIPs to come forward and it will also encourage non-jr.vips to move up the ladder too.

Sounds like a whole lot of work for someone to manage this. Nice idea nonetheless and would provide more value to the Jr VIPs.

However, are there really many Jr VIPs and Execs who have the time to do this? And those that do would probably rather use their own cash and run their own case studies, keeping the results private.
 
Only if the fee goes up by .25 cents!

But I think it should be open to everyone, and then the studies (backed with proof), is submitted to a small panel of judges. Then the results are only displayed in JrVip.
 
I love this idea. Why not have jr execs compete- case studies/journey threads go to jr vip section

best one gets rewarded by exec upgrade

We could do this in the jr vip forum too and release it to the regular forum (might get more people interested in going jr vip)

Ok, so have been thinking a lot about this and it's a great idea. However, it's going to take some serious management so we need to work out the logistics of this.

Couple of big events coming up, so once UnGagged Vegas and the platform move have completed, I'll set up a discussion group and/or a poll thread. Anyone that wants to take part in the setting up phase, reply here and I'll get in touch once we move forward - probably after Christmas.
