Guess it's time to mosey on down and eat my hat.
It's not a fantastic success rate, and as it calls to Googles server I wouldn't give any one site more than 3 tries - but that will get most solved. You can then (with most SEO tools) pass those that fail onto a human solving service.

I'm getting about 20-25% success - but giving it 5 goes to solve is likely to cause an IP ban with all those calls to Google, so I'm giving it 3 and having 2 proxies per running thread.
All that being said - this is going to save me a $HIT LOAD OF MONEY! as many of the big sites have now moved to recaptcha

Pssh, pretty impressive success rate for OCR with Google's shit images, i barely have that success rate ^^.

It's still an issue with it reporting to Google HQ - so care should be taken with your proxies. But overnight runs to Pligg sites that now cost less than $50 - $100 should now be possible for the big spammers in here.

For me targeting a few hundred key sites this will still save me between $10 and $20 per week on top of the savings CS has already given me.

I use both of them but mostly UD for 1st tier stuff. (I want to post on custom coded sites more than open source platforms these days - and I want precise control of link placement - so UD wins every time) It works on all the above.

Pligg sites are the killer here. (or were) every bloody one of them seemed to have recaptcha. YOWZERS

I have an older version of CS and rarely use it. Will have to get it out and dust it off.

Is this something which will only work with the latest version? And is it something you need to 'train' CS to do?

It's a free update for all paid CS owners. Just go to the CS site and download it.

It doesn't need training it does it out of the box.

Can't get better than that!

its solve both type of reCAPTCHA? Including black shade ones?
 
Scritty, how do you allow for CS to run 3 attempts, and if that fails send Captcha to Solving Service. Is this possible?

In "Visual aid" tab set CS as priority one and "Skip a site if it fails more than X times" ...to 3 (or however many goes you want it to have)
If you have a 2nd Priority captcha solving service (in my case decaptcha) it transfers and gives that X goes if CS has failed to solve it
If you don't want it to do that - don't set a priority 2 captcha service.

You can't set a different number of goes per service though. If it's 3 goes for CS it's 3 goes for your manual service as well.
I watched it quite closely for about 10 minutes and saw it working as expected.

I didn't realize that's how the Visual aid protocol worked. I always just assumed 3 retries was 3 in total ie. it would try a site 3 times with CS and then just move on to the next site. Thanks for clearing that up. This is great news for me :)
 
I instaled soon as I saw the update and I swear I saw it bust open 3 recaptchas imediatly! I know it can not handle the more complex but this is a serious and excellent update.

My free posting lists just got massive!

I did to :)

I only noticed the messages saying something like "Sent to captcha solving service "decaptcha" for solving" and thought... "What's going on here then"?
I watched for about 10-15 minutes and noticed that was what was going on.

Works fine.

That's pretty cool...

Does captcha sniper have any kind of API? i.e. could I set it up on a windows VPS to work like a web service and then upload it captchas to solve and then get the results back to use in my scripts (which would be running on a separate unix box).
 
im still having an issue with captcha type 2, i cant get it to highlight yellow and when i double click it, a popup error comes up it says:
invalid property value -380
:crazy:
im using no hands seo, GSA SER.
also when i click test in no hands seo it says captcha type 28 isnt working..

1 out of 4 success rate is a lot better than 0 out of 4! Nicely done!

how do you guys afford Ultimate Demon... i definately cannot afford a 400$ program.. ive wanted xrumer for years but its just to expensive for 1 tool. my max budget for any tool is $100
