Can't solve this Instagram problem..

hey BHW,
I have this problem with Instagram where if I try to DM someone I'll get a error message saying "Couldn't create thread" and it won't allow me to DM people. This is a really big problem because it prevents me from DMing big accounts for likes and comments, etc. I've tried looking up the error LITERALLY nothing will come up about Instagram dms not working, I have tried uninstalling and logging out but nothing fixes it, the weird thing is I have other accounts, so wen I go on another account and DM someone it will work perfectly fine so it makes me thing am I blocked from DM or? ... Idk, if anyone has experienced this before lmk because it's really frustrating when you try to look up a problem and it's like it doesn't even exist....

Tried a diff browser? Sometimes specific browsers don't work well.

You can only DM on the app can't try other browsers.

Just wait a few days (or maybe one week or two)

Don't spam now too much, your account is already flagged so you need to keep it cool

If you're blocked, you just got to wait it out tbh. Maybe try again in 3-5 days to see if the message goes through. It could be worse. They could have blocked your entire account instead of just the DMs.

Hate to hijack the thread but I'm having a similar issue and this is the only relevant result I find when searching google. I get the exact same message as Bapegod but only for one particular person, I was unaware it was possible to block someone only from DM'ing you and also this person follows me and I've never messaged them before so just seems very weird. I've been having this issue for about 2 weeks now.

Try to ask Instagram support maybe, they may have blocked something IMO on your account

Ya I went ahead and reported a problem to Instagram, I initially assumed I was blocked but its weird that I really can't find any other examples on the internet of this error message other than here and in the error message it tells me to "please try again."

RIGHT? This problem must be so unknown and I know exactly what you are talking about, Forgot to say this above but he reminded me, There cant be any way that I am blocked because I am able to send DMs to random people, example, I wanted to DM this 10k just too see if it would work and it did, I was so happy I thought the problem was fixed so I go and DM a 300k and nope "couldn't create thread"

Yeah it's been 5 days just tried today, same error message I guess I got permanently blocked from DMs....... Next step wtf do I do.......

What are you doing with the DMs and is it really that big of a deal?

The only reason I'm asking is that I hardly ever touch my DMs.

If someone needs to contact me, I have my email listed in bio or at times I will create a photo with my email address on it advertising promo rates and stuff like that.

Likes for likes, comments for comments, etc a lot is used with DMs, email is for promos / advertising etc. that's not what I need. I used followliker to DM every person who followed me which probably sent out like 10k DMs lol but not all at once that's like within 2 months.

Maybe there is a cap at some point we don't know about.

You were probably blocked by the person, the only way for you to get unblocked is if the person decides to do so

Instagram continuously changes their API. Updating the app will most likely solve your problem.
Threads refers to an element of Instagrams Private API btw

I got the same today, dm'ed like 20-30 people a day for a couple weeks and now i'm stuck with the same error...... really frustrating
