Can't get my parasites to rank

I'm kind of getting butthurt because everyone says parasites are easy as hell to rank and you could literally just blast GSA and be done. Well the keyword I'm targeting is low comp (less than 60 searches per month) and the #1 spot is a reddit post.

I got a small article up and added 10K social signals and then did a link pyramid style building. So 10 web 2.0s and 10 articles. Added wiki articles and submissions and social bookmarks. Then blast those links with GSA. There's a service for this on here so I did the first one myself and then tried their service. Both didn't do much for my ranking. The pages are indexed.

Am I just not doing enough? I'd honestly prefer if I could find a decent service to rank these. I know there's a new parasite ranking service (though it's like $90 and my fear is him eventually just stealing my keywords because why not, you know? It wouldn't be hard for him.)

How long has it been since you built the links?

And I wouldn't be too paranoid of sellers stealing your keywords. Just make sure they're a reputable member and active

- social signals and bookmarks will have practically no effect on the rankings
- web20 depends which, are they aged and indexed or new?

So these are not particularly strong links that you sent. Parasites can rank well, but it does not mean any parasite will rank for any query with minimal link juice.

One of the things to check (or to have checked) is, does this particular parasite rank already well in this particular niche; you have to pick the parasites that rank, not any parasite.

But like anything in IM, it is never as easy as they want you to believe.

I have not even once seen change in any of mine website rankings due any of those elements. Those are great for indexing but not for ranking imo.

Thanks for the advice both of you. What type of links would be best for ranking a parasite? I didn't want to spam the link directly so chose to go that route. Didn't know they weren't that effective.

One parasite has been about a month. One about 12 days.

Well, there you go. It's too soon even for inner page on authority site (aka parasite)

Also, I think you are doing too much not "not enough".

Give it time OP.

Also, why not take advantage of other properties as well?
Reddit is ranking #1? Why not post there?
Reddit thread is archived? Why not make another one? Build a conversation and drop your link there. No one interacts with your thread? Get yourself a couple of accounts and do it yourself.

Oarasites are meant to be quick at ranking though. Try ranking a medium.com page OP

the best way .

you use scrapebox to find all the links for your keyword from a web 2.0 what ranking heigh.

then no what parasite to use.

you might want to look up silo method aswell , brilliant for indexing heigh.

I've also tried to rank a medium page - did a GSA blast to it a month ago (web2/forums/comments/etc) and nothing really happened.
so I think @basemint, we're missing something because this throw-shit-to-a-wall-and-maybe-something-sticks-to-it strategy is not working:D

You really should not need to do that much work to rank a page for a keyword with that low competition. Your site must have a lower DA. Web 2.0s are good just make sure the links are actually being indexed.

I've ranked pages with 150-500 monthly visitors with no backlinks DA 15. I feel like you're doing too much, no idea why it's not ranking.

I'm thinking either your site is new or some of your off-site SEO has caught googles attention. Slow down with the off site.

I honestly think you just need time.

What anchors did you use for the blast? The reason people try to rank a parasite in the first place is that it can take a beating of exact match anchors without getting penalized since it's root domain is an authority site.

Also, sometimes pure GSA isn't enough. You can try some cheap $1 PBNs with exact match anchors and give it time.

All the best.

I've got some PBN posts pointing to it now and doing some more drip feed gsa. I will leave it a bit and see what happens. Working on other projects, but just want this to rank as this could add another project to work on. I won't give up, but there must be something I'm doing wrong. Will keep testing.

It's indexed. And the monthly search is an estimate from semrush. Could be inaccurate.

Depending on what parasite you are using - if you are using those web2.0 - newly registered sites, then those may start out as a new domain instead, as apparently, the link juice do not flow down to the sub-domain - eg, domain.parasite1.com
But if you are using a parasite that isn't a sub-domain, but something like an article link type of extension, then those will have high chances of the root domain flowing its link juice to your article -- these would be better as parasites nowadays.

As someone that's been doing work with parasites for quite some time now, I thought I would add in my thoughts on this, or rather, questions.
1)Is that content spun?
2)What is the quality of the content? In terms of length and also relevance to the keyword of choice.
3)What's the kw difficulty? I've seen keywords with searches of 100 per month, the competition is crazy high
4)For the GSA links, how fresh is the list that was used to post them? Also, how many of the links that you got are still live?
5)For the 10 web 2.0s that you've made, have these all only got 1 article on them? Having web 2.0s that are fleshed out has a massive impact on how well the web 2.0 works as a way to rank as shown in this case study. This case study used fresh web 2.0s only. No spam, no teired linking and it's ranking the page I've linked back to.

Parasites used to rank really quickly, this isn't the case anymore. A month really isn't long enough to gauge how well a parasite is going to fare.

parasites can rank in hours, but it depends on the domain you use for the parasite and how it is structured. like previously said if they create a special subdomain for your page/profile then its not as good as if its on the main domain, also some parasites link to newly created content on the front page and those are the good ones. if the #1 is reddit, you can also try to use reddit yourself and see if you can outrank the top spot with newer content. sometimes you can get google to replace it with yours if its the same domain just newer content and same topic.

Hey @Ozzyzig . I failed to rank a fresh medium.com parasite page with a 700 word hand written article about my keyword.

1 day after I published the article, the keyword landed on #6 on the first page. The keyword competition is super low.

I sent perhaps 8 expired high PA on day 1, and started a GSA project, sending some contextual backlinks(50 verified per day ish) directly to the parasite.
The parasite is now no where to be found, totally N/A. Did I do something wrong since at first it was at #6 and now not even top 300? The keyword is literally so low comp that just indexing would rank it, I was surprised that it was as high as #6, but i expected top 100.

Should I have used a cheap PBN instead of these GSA links? I have registered like 70 high PA expired tumblrs in the last 2 weeks and have them ready for use.

I am so desperate to try and feed my family, so i started trying to rank very low competiton keywords just to get like 1 sale per month per parasite, but havent managed to rank a single parasite yet. I figured I would just create 50 parasites for 50 super low competition keywords in order to get - you guessed it - 50 sales per month. yet to make a single sale... feelssuperbadman.
