You need to create a device that offer the same capacity as our biological brain. Brain doesn’t only stored our memory, it also responds to our senses and inducing certain emotions reaction such dopamin > happy, endorphin > pleasure, stress and many more. That includes creativity, critical thinking, and imagination.

Otherwise you gonna be on the state of meditation which is blank feeling, just pure conscious. Cause you aint got no organs and body.

what OP is talking about is seamless consciousness transference. That is likely impossible and will remain so for quite some time. The only means to achieve this is probably esoteric in nature. Its a very very "what if" type of field that isnt well understood.
 
So many twilight zones and black mirror-like tv shows about why this will backfire into an eternity of conscious torture. I think even the Simpsons did it.
