Was just wondering if there's any tips to add to my down loadable PDF to get some information back.

Is there anyway to add some sort of tracking code?

im sure you could add tracking code to the zip file itself, and then you could put the pdf in the zip :)

If you are able to add remote images to the pdf then you could use a redirect tracker. This would involve embedding a remote image, the path to which is actually the path to a script on your website. The website will get the request, the script will log it in a database or something and then do a redirect to the actual image you want to show in the pdf. I use this method for tracking opens on emails so I assume it would work with pdf too.

Will not the PDF ask if you want to visit this page? Or will it just show it as a remote image?

Do you want track downloads or just how many people open it?

Ask them to go to a page and download the latest version then you will be sure everybody that download it will download a new one. At least the smart once.
