Can we use adwords and fb for affiliation websites

I am very new to affiliation marketing and wanted to know whether we can use adwords and fb for affiliation site. I did basic research and found that google can ban if we promote affiliation website.

Check their policies carefully. Also check with affiliate programs if they allow ppc traffic.
