Can SSL hurt rankings?

I Have Faced This Problem It Will Drop Some Ranking But Improve & Boost Ranking As Well As in Few Weeks.

It helps rankings and with a proper 301, all link juice should transfer..

By the way, what is your hosting? You might need to force redirect from http to https...
 
So I'm going to guess that most of you replying haven't actually tested this out and are just parroting some gurutard like Hamish Patel or whatever the fuck his name is.
 
So wait...if your site is https:// and you create backlinks without https:// it defeats the purpose of the backlinks or no? because I never put www. or https:// for backlinks that link back to my site even though my site is https://...didn't think this mattered
 
Google is constantly pushing for everyone to use SSL. I highly doubt they would punish you for using it.
 
Google likes ssl encryption because it makes the net safer and it is part of better user eyperience
 
It will hurt your rankings if you transfer from http to https on a live site
I have tried this on an existing authority site which had over 600 root domains linking in
This is because you have to setup 301's and a few things will happen
1) it will take time for new https urls to show in the serps even though there are ways to speed this up
2) You will lose juice from the 301
3) Rankings do not restore to the original ranks

Hence I cannot easily recommend to do this for an existing site but for a new site it should be fine

This is my personal experience your mileage may vary
 
There might be a dip in the rankings even with 301 redirect to HTTPS version. But in the end it's all worth the pain.
 
No, it won't, SSL was created to protect your sites, Google doesn't affect rankings if you have SSL
