Can spam bots hurt my site's SEO performance?

Unassigned traffic has appeared in GA4 and it is a second source of traffic. It creates sessions with 100% Bounce Rate, and 0% Engagement Rate. I am sure this traffic is coming from spam bots. Can these traffic sources harm my SEO efforts and if so, how can I protect my website from this attack?

It won't affect your SEO unless someone invested in some solid process that uses Chrome (mobile & PC) with warmed-up sessions & accounts,
Other than that, the only other way is to slow down your website (basic DDOS attack), resulting in worse UX & indirectly affecting your SEO

Given the recent facts that Google takes Chrome user behavior into account, I’d play it safe. If you’re using Cloudflare, I’d set up a JS check for direct visits.
