This doesn't mean that site dont have backlinks, maybe he is using private PBN that ahrefs / semrush bots can't dettect because they are blocked. Anyway google is very strange this days so im not suprised if sites start ranking without any backlinks

In my country I see wordpress tags ranking for poker888, meaning, that this keyword despite having a ton of visits (branded keyword), is not highly competitive.
