Hello, I am an amateur SEOer with little experience. I really don't understand why after Google updated in August, a series of sites with AI content and the indiscriminate use of backlinks are on top, on the contrary, I tried to be quite careful about the language and linking but the results were not as expected. Can anyone explain to me?

Especially in this update, I don't know how to start writing content that is pleasing to Google. In addition, my company only focuses on backlinks and homepage content, the rest of the content can be written however you want.

Google is having a hard time figuring out which ones are AI generated imo
Once you add your own touches, it almost reads the same

yours fell through, but regarding content...thats still very hard for machines to detect

So in your opinion, using AI in content is allowed and will not affect future rankings?
 
Things are in bit of a flux with AGI on the horizon too.
 
Many tricks to consider.

From the most basic that someone with huge resources can do a split test with thousands of different AI sites

And to expect rankings for many sites for certain time, buy cheap com domains that won't be renewed or other.

To the cloaking of robot txt and spam of keywords, using PBN's and interlinking tactics. So many options.

There's nothing to be explained. You should do your job the best you can. Create high quality backlinks and content.

Wait for google to pick you up. That's the best if you are a WH business.


If you want to be a hero, rise up another site or few and see what you can do, or simply practice your skills there.

A.I. content isn't banned from Google but it ranks lower than human written content and that's what this google update does.

Google update sometimes can be funny. You might follow all the guidelines and still will not rank or be penalized by an algorithm update
 
Google’s algorithm updates are indeed creating unexpected results, especially in 2024. I think one reason could be that Google is adjusting to the rapid growth of AI.
Sites with AI generated content and aggressive backlink strategies might be temporarily ranking now due to gaps in the algorithm.
Google still considers backlinks a strong ranking factor, so sites with high link volumes can see short term boosts, even if the quality is low. Plus, Google is still improving its ability to detect AI content, maybe Google and AI are not exactly best friends yet! Lol...

However, these tactics often do not last. By focusing on quality content and natural link building, you will create a more stable foundation that will pay off in the long term. Stay consistent with best practices, and the results will come.
 
it seems to me that it has not been configured properly yet and it is indexed so far only by keywords
